Browsing wildflower wedding ideas? You’ve come to the right place. This styled shoot designed by Contagious Events and shot by Lena Mirisola Photography, features pops of eye-catching colors and boho wildflowers to evoke a playful, whimsical aesthetic. “We really wanted to design a day that personified good cheer and would put a smile on anyone’s face who browsed through the images,” says Rogers. Adding, that because so many couples had to deal with the uncertainty of COVID, a positive shoot was a must!
To create their one-of-a-kind setting, florals were utilized throughout the shoot. From the lush, overgrown bouquets to the ceremony decor and couple’s accessories—to even the pressed flowers seen on the escort cards—blooms were everywhere. These boho wildflowers also provided a nice contrast with the shoot’s historic and stately, Massachusetts venue. Willowdale Estate’s Craftsman and Tudor Revival Stone Mansion served as the perfect backdrop because the colorful wildflowers added a different feel to the vintage-inspired setting. “Personally, I love seeing these images because weddings at Willowdale typically feature a more neutral color palette that’s greenery-heavy, so it’s really nice to see something new and different at a classic venue,” says Rogers.
Along with the bright, flower-filled theme, this styled shoot is extra special because it features a real couple. Allie and Emma actually got married during the pandemic, but like so many other 2020 and 2021 couples, they had to modify their plans. “We wanted to offer a second day of fun and photos for our brides who may have had a smaller wedding than they planned, but now have twice the images that celebrate and honor their love,” explains Rogers. The Flower-Filled Ceremony Space
As we mentioned above, florals were used to dress up this styled shoot in a whimsical way. Lush arrangements featured colorful blooms, such thistle, billy balls, garden roses and more, and were paired with fresh greenery, like eucalyptus, to add a playful vibe at the ceremony and reception space.
During the shoot, the couple participated in a handfasting ceremony where bright ribbons were used to tie both Emma and Allie’s hands together and symbolized their union.
The Blooming Accessories
We’re obsessing over both Allie and Emma’s floral statement earrings. They totally take their bridal style to another level and actually feature real boho wildflowers.
The Wildflower Wedding Fashion
Along with their statement earrings, both Allie and Emma swooned in romantic styled gowns that also featured floral laced designs. Emma’s gown included an off-the-shoulder neckline and floral embellishments, where as Allie donned a V-neck look with a lace bodice paired with a flowy sheath skirt.
The Colorful Escort Cards Featuring Pressed Flowers
Press flowers were used escort cards and displayed on an acrylic seating chart. It added a modern touch to the reception decor.
Pressed flowers were also seen on table numbers.
The Lush Table Arrangements Filled With Boho Wildflowers
Tabletops evoked a family-friendly seating style with the help of rustic rectangular tables versus the classic round style. Blooms were placed as runners on the tables and served as centerpieces.
The Show-Stopping Cake Adorned With Blooms
A three-tired fondant frosted orange cake was crafted by Silver Whisk Bake Shop and was, of course, topped with colorful blooms. Along with the wow-worthy cake, the shoot even featured an almost too pretty to eat macaroon dessert display. It, too, included a variety of color.
The Relaxed Lounge Area Dressed Up In Fresh Florals
A playful, whimsical-inspired setting is not complete without a laid-back lounge area. We love how the flowers were utilized in this boho space, which features velvet upholstered furniture and lots of pillow and cushion seating.
