If you’ve been scrolling through Instagram lately, there’s a good chance you’re familiar with these two! Casey Goode, also known as the creative maven behind Officially Quigley, and Alex Goode, otherwise known as Jackpoticorn, have graced the pages of Green Wedding Shoes numerous times, and we’re always in absolute awe of their styling, fun relationship, and effervescent energy.
Casey, as a fashion blogger, is no stranger to designing editorial and campaigns throughout the year, so it was pretty normal for her and Alex to model for this wedding one… Little did Alex know that she had a HUGE surprise waiting for him—in the form of a vow renewal and a custom ring! To bring all the creativity together, Casey brought in her cousin, Hailey of Two Roads Events Co. and the two started crafting an heirloom-inspired day.
Let’s wander through all the magical moments Nicole Ashley Photography captured!
The Details
Isn’t this palette one that will stand the test of time? Lynn & Lou Paper Co. crafted the darling invitation suite with soft peachy pinks and burgundy hues. We can’t get over how sweet those paper florals are!
What does an heirloom-inspired day mean? Hailey is here to explain: Casey had big plans to present her husband Alex with a ring she had custom designed for him as a symbol of their love, a ring that she envisioned being passed down as an heirloom for generations to come. Stemming from that idea, we decided to play off of the term “heirloom”—both in developing an event brimming with symbolism and timeless value, but also in adopting heirloom tones, and embracing the beautiful heirloom fruits grown at Northern California’s stunning, exclusive Bear Flag Farm.
Their Stunning Ensembles
That Marchesa dress from Lovely Bride is a DREAM, don’t you think?
Christie Reynolds Beauty kept these two looking sleek all day. How *Goode* are Casey’s waves? Alex is looking pretty darn dapper, too!
Cocktails for Two
Rose gold, burgundy, and orange added a sort of sultry and vintage romance vibe to the otherwise blush-hued color palette. Crimson cocktails were in order to celebrate the joyous occasion!
If you’ve been following GWS for a while, you might be familiar with Christine Cater’s work (see some of her other designs, here, including the workshop in Italy we were at!). How brilliant is that bouquet of pink and orange blooms?
The Bloomin’ Tablescape
Replete with peachy posies and a colorful splash of citrus fruit, there’s something modern and fresh about this tablescape, yet it feels inspired by vintage designs. Such a wonderful combination of pieces from Archive Rentals, right?
We are looooving how they tied the bouquet with the prettiest ribbon from Butler & White!
Aren’t they the CUTEST?!
Mimicking Casey’s floral dress, Paper Heart Patisserie created this confectionary delight!
How She Surprised Him!
Who says the husband always has to the one to surprise the wife with a ring? Right after we got married in 2017, my husband, Alex, found a vintage ring that he fell in love with at a pawn shop. A few days later, we called to see if the ring was still there and it had been sold. He was SO sad! But…I had taken a photo of the ring and saved it on my phone.
I secretly decided to have our jeweler, Mark Broumand, make a custom replica of the ring for Alex! I planned a huge shoot with my cousin, Hailey from Two Roads Event Co., along with some amazing vendors. We told Alex that it was simply a styled wedding shoot…
Right as the sun was setting at Bear Flag Farm, I got down on one knee, presented the surprise ring, and renewed my vows to him in front of the most beautiful altar.
Side Note: Isn’t that backdrop INCREDIBLE?!
How darling are they?!
Blooms for Days
We thought the blooms above were spectacular…and then we saw this floral shrug! Talk about GORGEOUS.
And you won’t want to miss the gorgeous film by Made in Video!
We’re so happy for the two of you! And what a great reminder that even after the wedding—you can still surprise each other, date each other, and bring on the romance. Happy anniversary!!
