A quiet elopement in Santorini. Sigh…doesn’t that just sound romantic? Immediately, we’re thinking bright whites and blues, seaside cliffs, and a private escape almost too good to be true. And that, dear friends, was exactly Jenny + Fanis saught for their elopement. Calling on Poema Wedding Events to help pull off their penchant for modern design + style, the day was just as dreamy as you could imagine. Jenny tells us:
We are a Greek couple based in Thessaloniki and we wanted to have a romantic ceremony, just the two of us, on the magical island of Santorini. We have been there a few times, being wedding photographers too, so we decided the island was perfect for us, especially at the end of wedding season. The weather was absolutely great, sunny and not too windy. Our friends, Laura and Tommy, photographed the day. We have an amazing friendship and the feeling they created with us during the wedding made us feel comfortable enough to enjoying every single minute.
Latophotography captured the day in stunning detail. Let’s have a look:
Bianchi Weddings incorporated watercolor calligraphy and floral motifs for an utterly romantic invitation suite.
Jenny was looking for something different from traditional bridal couture. She wore a two-piece dress by Dubbio Gusto Ricami e Sartoria…and just wait until you see the full effect under the cape!
Fanis wore a grey linen suit made by Linneo Archivable Clothing paired with a navy floral shirt.
J + F were wed at the Erosantorini, a secluded resort with views you’ve got to see to believe! The painted rug aisle (drawn by world-renowned designer, Paola Navone) was dotted with brass + wood details and florals by Flowery.
Of course, the moment when we exchanged our vows was the most emotional part of the day. We felt happy, excited and we couldn't believe we were there, getting married. Amalia from Poema Weddings and Events was awesome. She planned every single detail — the most remarkable moment of the day was after the ceremony, when she surprised us with a bottle of champaign to celebrate the moment.
YAY!
Yep, this is perfect.
After the ceremony J + F stood for some portraits at a white modern church next to the venue. HOW COOL is this place?
ALL the romance! We’re feeling the need to escape to Santorini immediately.
She is so rad! Want a similar look? Here are a few of our favorite bridal separates:
Just the most romantic table setting by Art De La Table Rentals.
Is it just us or is this caked dressed to impress?! Petran Art Pastry Chef crafted a stunning sensation for ‘s day!
If you want it to be just the two of you, consider a venue with no tourists for your elopement. Of course Santorini is very crowded during summer (is a very beautiful and breathtaking island, you know), but there are also amazing spots with no people. If you choose a venue as magical as Erosantorini, you can't go wrong.
LOVE this bridal look on Jenny! It’s a little edgy, a little romantic, and absolutely unique.
Just sweep us away already! Such a stunning day with all the feels. Congrats to Jenny + Fanis!
