With Mother’s Day coming up this Sunday, we thought it would be fun to share something that’s a little bit out of the norm, but is definitely still inspirational + beautiful. Planned + designed by Megan Mathews and photographed by Ely Fair Photography, this sweet Mother’s Day picnic shoot provides fun inspiration for celebrating mom, that can also easily offer some great ideas for brides-to-be who are in the midst of planning a wedding or bridal brunch! Let’s hear a bit more from Jessica at Wednesday, the designer behind the shoot’s pretty paper goods:
We felt a Mother’s Day picnic needed to illustrate warmth and tenderness, so we used soft layering textures, family heirlooms and personal stories to style. The setting offered an element of comfort/coziness which we felt was the ‘essence of moms’ and what they so often provide in our lives. The doilies, picnic basket, cross-stitch hoops, vintage photos and recipes are all symbolic to the family. We even selected peach colors and foods, because the mom’s grandmother name is ‘Peaches’ and her love language with her children and others is food.
The cutest fam, no?
Is that “nom nom” recipe card the cutest, or what? We have a free printable for that guy right here!
And here is the recipe thanks to Cuppies and Joe for those cute mini peach praline pies!
Peach Praline Pie
Ingredients
4 cups sliced, peeled ripe peaches
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons quick-cooking tapioca
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/4 cup butter
1 (9in) unbaked pie crust
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a large bowl, combine peaches, sugar, tapioca, and lemon juice and let stand for 15 minutes. Meanwhile, combine flour, brown sugar, and pecans in a small bowl. Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Fill already rolled out pie crust with the peaches and sprinkle crumb mixture on top. Bake 20-30 minutes or until peaches are tender and topping is golden brown.
*This recipe is for a 9in. pie but here they are divided up into 4 mini pies
And we’ve got a download for this recipe card printable, too! Love it.
The pretty florals by Juniper echoed the shoot’s charming, playful vibe.
