Laidback Los Angeles Wedding: Jeanne + Alex

Guys, say hello to Jeanne + Alex, a super cute duo who loves LA, good food, live music and – of course – each other! They tied the knot at one of Los Angeles’ raddest venues, Elysian, an urban oasis that runs right alongside the LA River. Their goal was to keep the day simple, and focus on love + community. So inviting some of their close friends to play live music throughout the ceremony + reception was a must and family members came together and helped bake desserts + decorate the venue.

We’re totally loving the berry + green color palette, the plethora of pretty eucalyptus garlands, and Jeanne’s stunning sheath dress from Paris 1900. And let’s face it, there really couldn’t have been anyone better than the talented gals from Rad + In Love to capture J + A’s fun and laidback day! These images are just so pretty…

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

Alex: All of the times our friends and family played music, especially when my dad got got up there.

Jeanne: After our entrance as a married couple, when we stood in front of everyone and looked out into the faces of all of our loved ones.

We love the simplicity of the tablescape, and the pomegranate details provide such a perfect pop of red!

From Rad + In Love, At one point Jeanne got up and surprised Alex by beautifully singing Daniel Johnston’s “True Love Will Find You In The End”. The funny thing is, Alex had wanted to sing that to Jeanne on their wedding night but chickened out! He sat and watched her with a smile on his face tears in his eyes.

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

Ask for help! We couldn't have done it alone, and having our friends and family involved made it so much more meaningful. Alex's father and several of our friends played the music, my sister designed and baked delicious cookies for favors that my whole family decorated, our friends helped design and decorate everything, as well as haul flowers/liquor/you name it to the venue. Our wedding day was truly a labor of love. Also, just know and accept that while things will inevitably go wrong, the only thing that matters is that you're marrying the person you love.
