Fairytale Backyard Wedding: Micheli + Josh

Backyard Fairytale Wedding

Micheli + Josh met in elementary school (cue a collective awww from all the hopeless romantics out there) and reconnected 16 years later when Josh moved back to their hometown of Roseville, California. Micheli recalls, We met up at a restaurant not having any idea what one another looked like, but once he walked in, we were instantly drawn to each other. We’ve been together ever since.

He proposed at Micheli’s parents’ house on Christmas, so they decided that her family’s incredible backyard would be the most special and sentimental place to get married. They spent an entire year getting the yard into shape and as you’ll see in just a sec, it really does look like a fairytale setting. Between the giant, ancient oak trees, the towering redwoods and that multi-landing staircase, that was just begging to be decked out with flowers and candles, there’s just an undeniably magical atmosphere to the day. Thanks so much to Paige Jones for capturing that feel in the gorgeous photos below!

Micheli + her dad walked down the aisle to Can’t Help Falling In Love by Elvis Presley.

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

Our favorite part of the wedding was when our officiant said, "You may now kiss the bride." That moment was surreal, like it was just Josh and I. Planning and the days leading up to the wedding can be stressful and jam packed, but in that moment we could finally let it all go and start that very second brand new as husband and wife. Walking into the reception was amazing. Standing on top of the landing looking out on the entire backyard and seeing all of our friends and family was overwhelming. We felt very fortunate and like we were on top of the world!

Everyone love bread, so why not gift your guests freshly-baked rolls, which can also double as their escort cards?

ombre rock cake

How amazing are these gorgeous cakes by Ettore’s of Sacramento? The flavors sound delicious, but we’ve got to admit it’s the crystal rock-candy design that’s winning us over big time!
