Pairing it down and taking things back to the basics, today’s vow renewal editorial is all about SIMPLICITY. Otherwise known as modern minimalism, the design elements focused on the fashion + details. And when we say fashion, we mean FASHION! Jamie + Brocke changed up their looks three separate times, with each look just as elegant as the last. Ciara of Bash Co + Events shares It was all about the bare bones of each element; such as the trim on inside the house creating modern lines, sketched invitations with black ink, or even the natural curiosity of greenery growing out from the windows.
Although our shoot was minimalistic, each detail was thoughtfully curated — including our couple! We hand chose our couple Jamie + Brocke, not only because they are madly in love — but they actually live a minimalistic lifestyle.
A Sea of Love captured all the elegance… Let’s dive in, shall we?
Oh man… The torn edges, the simple drawing, the onyx black envelope. Is this not the most divine invitation suite you’ve ever seen?! Major props to Alli K Design.
White roses, antique roses, and tons of textural greenery rounded out the bouquet by Yellow Thistle Designs.
Jamie, a high-end fashion stylist, adores black and white, and everything clean. So it’s no surprise that the team asked her for help with styling! She’s all about blank spaces, carefully curated pieces that bring happiness, simple + elegant touches of gold. It could be said that her aesthetic mimics the lessons in Marie Kondo’s The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up.
Look 1: Ceremony
Jamie’s attire – dress: Houghton NYC // stud earrings: Satomi Kawakita // black diamond earrings + other rings: Catbird // earring (as hair accessory) + shoes: Céline // wedding rings: Anna Sheffield
Brocke’s attire – tux: The Black Tux // shoes: Zara // wedding ring: Catbird
While photographing their vow renewal ceremony, Brocke actually brought out their wedding vows and read them softly to Jamie… it was so beautiful.
After touring a few places and then seeing Jamie + Brock’es vintage old tudor home in Dallas, Texas, Bash Co + Events says: Picking their home as the venue was a no brainer, not only was it a completely different “venue” vibe, it was minimal and also allowed for the main focus to be on their love as they renewed their vows.
With just a touch of millennial pink and pops of brassy gold, the tablescape mimicked the modern minimal aesthetic.
The sleeves on that Houghton NYC dress from a and be bridal are just too good!!
