Nelly + Michael’s gorgeous Nor Cal farm wedding is truly the stuff of dreams! It was rustic and beach-y with the most perfect coastal views, and every little detail was such a beautiful reflection of the two of them. These guys fell in love over multiple summers of fishing up in Alaska, so that part of their lives really became the base for their wedding design + ideas. They made all of the decorations together, hand-painted their wedding invitations – and even caught the salmon they served for dinner! Talk about making every detail thoughtful + personal. We’re dying to hear more about how they tied Alaska into their celebration, so we’ll let Nelly take it from here:
The inspiration for our color palette came from a camping trip in central Alaska in the fall. I saw such beautiful natural tones of dark red wild cranberries, gold autumn leaves, blueberries and green moss that I wanted to interweave into our fall wedding. This woodland autumn theme also carried into the little wool mushrooms I hand felted for the table centerpieces, inspired by the colorful mushrooms found in the woods in Alaska. I wanted our wedding to have an organic, natural and simple style that reflected our story and the adventures we have been on together. We also wanted our wedding to have a relaxed feel with delicious local food and good music.
Big thanks to Kate Harrison for sharing these stunning images of Nelly + Michael’s day with us!
The bridesmaids were decked out in the most ethereal gold Anthropologie frocks!
Processional: Acoustic music preformed by The North Pacific String Band
Recessional: Caravans – Van Morrison
First Dance: Fishin in the Dark – The North Pacific String Band
Our most memorable moment of the day was the ceremony. We held the ceremony up in a eucalyptus grove above the farm fields. It was so peaceful and serene with a view of the ocean that made it a very special spot. Michael’s good friend performed the ceremony making it a personal, intimate, and beautiful moment.
Garlands, lanterns + whimsical bunting? Yes, yes + yes. We love it!
This vintage hutch, filled with cakes by Gayle’s Bakery, really could not be sweeter!
Enjoy the moments you get to be with all of the people that came to celebrate with you. One of the best parts I enjoyed about our wedding is that we designed it around the weekend, not just the day. We had so many people coming from far away we wanted to enjoy as much time with them as we could. The night before the wedding, we had a meet and greet party that gave us more time to be with all of our guests.

Those gold bridesmaids dresses are fabulous!! And I think that may be the most sweetly decorated rustic altar I’ve seen yet.

How absolutely charming and romantic. I am looking at having my wedding here as well. Curious if you stayed in the yurt over the weekend.
what did this couple so for restrooms since this location has none? Were the tables and chairs shown provided?
