Ash + Jake didn’t just have a wedding – they had an intimate, four-day, destination LoveFest in Yosemite! :) Since they both work in the wedding industry, these two know all too well just how fast the day flies by. By slowing things down and packing a long weekend full of fun activities and events (with a wedding sandwiched in between!), they were able to really enjoy themselves and spend lots of quality time with all of their guests! They DIY’d all of the details incorporated into the day, with considerable respect to their rustic surroundings. According to Ash, The ideas were based off of our venue being Yosemite and mother nature, herself. We are both really into astrology so we were inspired by that and keeping things as organic as possible. We wanted it to look almost as if we weren’t bringing any outside elements to Yosemite.
We’re really excited to share bits + pieces of their whole weekend with you guys, so be sure to read about it all as you go through the post! Big thanks to James Moes for the beautiful photography and congratulations to Ash + Jake on a perfect wedding LoveFest weekend!
The festivities started with star gazing at Glacier point…Looks pretty incredible, doesn’t it?!
And day 2 included a hike through Mariposa Grove, followed by a solstice rehearsal BBQ…
The main event was Ash + Jake’s circular, 60-guest ceremony in the heart of Yosemite Valley. The surroundings were nothing short of breathtaking + you can just feel the love emanating from the images!
Ash wore a custom dress, designed + handmade by her best friend’s mother, Shelly Lang. Love all the texture + detailing!
Every single event and memory made was filled with magic and love and we would do every part of it all over again and again. From meeting almost every Monday night with friends to make crafts to all the planning, I think our favorite memory was seeing it all come together. It was better than we could have ever imagined. It was amazing to see all of our loved ones get so festive.
To conclude the weekend, Ash + Jake hosted a small brunch, followed by an afternoon bike ride. Such a fun way to incorporate some of your favorite pastimes while enjoying the company of your friends + family!
Make your wedding weekend as long as possible and no matter how stressful planning might get, let your excitement take over and enjoy every moment!

Awh in love with all of these wedding photos!
How absolutely unique!
What a BEAUTIFUL and sweet and memorable wedding. Jen, do you know how much you have changed the wedding industry with your awesome blog? I bet you have no idea how many countless brides you have inspired by sharing unique weddings and making it okay to do your own thing as a couple and not just go with the traditional way of getting married. I know I was most inspired by your blog over any other blog for my own wedding. You have really created a beautiful thing here with this site. xoxox! )
I went to college with Jake! He’s a phenomenal photographer, and throughout the time he was posting teasers of his wedding to the lovely Ash on Facebook, you could tell they’d done something epic and special to them. So, so, so happy to see this posted on GWS! Much love.
Ash & Jake are just the sweetest. Of course, their epic wedding weekend could be nothing short of a fairytale. Love you guys!
The scenery was fantastic, but I was also super impressed by the itinerary and seating chart. They fit the adventurous and bold theme of the wedding so well, and were eye catching to boot!
Hi, I’m kind of obsessed with your invitations! Did you make them yourself or have a printer? Details please!
Having kids on your wedding really adds more excitement and beauty on it. The little ones look so sweet and their dress are awesome just like what can be seen in the collection from http://www.wallao.com/
Hi! I love your wedding photos! I am planning a wedding in Yosemite and I was wondering if you could tell me who you planned your wedding through? Or hotel you went through? Any information would be amazing as I am completely inspired here! :)

Oh my God! What a beautiful picture sesh! I just fell in love with your wedding guys. My boyfriend and I went to Yosemite 2 years ago, and it was the experience of my life.
Congratulations Ash and Jake!
<3!
Where was this reception held at?
I am in love with this wedding. I’m trying to plan a yosemite wedding from los angeles right now. I’m so torn between having an all inclusive type of weekend wedding at a retreat, or renting a house and getting married in the park. I’m leaning toward the latter since it allows for more creativity and flexibility but I also want a 50-60 person wedding and I’m having a hard time finding a place big enough.
This is breathtaking and makes me wish I would have incorporated more astrological themes into our invite, etc. since I’m an astrologer. I’m curious – does anyone know where they had their seating chart made?
This wedding was absolutely fantastic! Exactly what my fiance and I are looking for. We are planning our wedding for May of 2017 in Yosemite from Florida! We are expecting 50 people. I would love to know more about how you guys made that glorious book! Its such a brilliant idea. Because we live so far, we are planning to make the whole trip a trip for all of our guests to enjoy and not stress about planning. We will do that for them! I am really interested to know more! Thank you so much for the share! it has gotten some idea peculating for me! Lots of love <3
Get in touch. we would love to be a part of your big day. Jbm.photo
I am absolutely drooling over this wedding. Where was the reception? How did you like the Wawona, and did you consider other accommodations? <33
