Feeling Festive: Would You Dare to Wear a Christmas Tree Skirt?

Real Christmas Tree Skirt

At GWS, we’re known for having a penchant for unique + out-of-the-box ideas — so when we saw this Christmas tree skirt made from real cedar, we knew we had to share! While this (50 pound!!) skirt might not be the right fit for taking up Black Diamond runs, it sure does make for some gorgeous wintry goodness on the slopes!

For the festive look, designer Chantel Lauren combined the Odessa bodice from her 2018 collection with the fresh cedar branches. Chantel shares: It’s the most wonderful time of the year, which means our favorite design project of the year! Photographed by Shaylei Halling in our home state of Utah at Brighton Ski Resort, the session warmed up nicely at a local tree farm, where our model fit right in!

We adore that checkered tie back — which allows the top piece of the dress to extend further and “fuse” the cedar part to the top!

What kind of holiday projects + festivities do you look forward to every year? For Chantel Lauren + her team it’s their annual Christmas Tree dress shoot! We can only imagine how much fun it is to participate in a shoot like this… Can you picture trying to walk through the snow in a 50 pound dress? Major props to the model, Bela Chatwin, who knocked it out of the park!

A sprinkling of holly and lush with greenery, who else is now ready to get “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”? Couldn’t help but incorporate the pun somehow! :)

Happy holidays, everyone!!
