Woodsy + whimsical weddings are some of our favorites — it must be the sense of adventure, the connection with nature and all its surrounding beauty. We haven’t seen many weddings in Tahoe, California, so when we saw this gorgeous day we were giddy with joy! The wooded regions of Northern California are dense with redwoods, chilled days, and some of the most spectacular lakes + mountains.
Today’s bride has helped plan several weddings in the past and works as a Creative Director, and knew she wanted to plan + design much of the wedding herself… But wanted to avoid the stress, especially the day of! Enter in Danielle of Elise Events; Danielle already knew the Tahoe region and worked with the bride to make the woodsy + whimsical day come to life.

“When two people from Colorado get married, everyone gets granola.” Okay, this is too funny + cute!
The bride shares: Throughout our lives we travelled in parallel paths. We grew up in neighboring towns, attended the same University and even moved independently from the mountains of Colorado to the hustle and bustle of NYC after college. Finally, those paths converged thanks to some encouragement from a mutual friend… And here we are today!
Large pampas grass framed the ceremony site, along with leafy greens — which allowed for the natural beauty of the estate to shine through while highlighting the couple.
“We’re so glad you’re here! Now put on a boutonnière.” Yup, we love this little DIY element!
I was also lucky to have my craftiest of friends — my Matron of Honor and friend, Mindy Liu, helping me with planning and making so many of the day-of materials. Mindy did all the calligraphy, signs, photo booth set-up and props and so much more.
Talk abut an epic tablescape!! Framed by hanging florals and greenery, pampas grass, and accents of turquoise — we’re pretty smitten by this whole scene.
Yup, we could stare at this set-up for days and days…
And don’t get us started on that epic dessert table!! Mix Cupcake Co. pulled out all the stops and delivered every pie imaginable!
As for the bride’s sensational dress? It’s by none other than Romona Keveza from Kleinfeld.
