Wild Foliage Meets Watercolor Wedding Inspiration

Inspiration in South Africa

Brimming with lush foliage, darling watercolor accents, and draping fabrics, today’s wild, yet elegant wedding inspiration comes to us from Stellenbosch, South Africa! Event designer, Kadou, completely transformed the blank space of the Styling Shed — its concrete floors, big windows, and textured walls served as the perfect backdrop for a comfortable + cool vibe.

Amanda of Kadou tells us: Layers of lush material were draped from a structure and paired with a floral mass arrangement which added to the romantic feel of the setting. Blue and grey accents complemented the florals in a surprisingly stunning way, and oversized Tuscan vases with romantic blooms truly dressed up the scene.

To top it all off, soft blue watercolors acted as a surprising, yet unifying touch. Let’s see how they transformed the space in the photos by Debbie Lourens!

Is there anything prettier or more calming than watercolor ombré? Such a pretty effect on this invitation suite by Pretty in Stains!

Mixing things up in the dress department, the bride donned two distinctly different (but equally gorgeous) Bo & Luca gowns. Beautiful silk, exposed backs, romantic long sleeves and off-the-shoulder designs were the perfect boho look for the modern bride.

Foraged dried grass, greenery and lush peonies, orchids and delphiniums made up the textural bouquet + florals by Kadou. The soft blooms echoed the relationship between the setting and beautiful bridal elements.

For the tablescape, white draped linen framed with black cross back chairs felt like a laid-back twist on the classic black and white theme. All the floral elements were grouped on one side of the table leaving the antique style candle sticks and grey candles to shine on their own.

Gold rimmed plates, gold cutlery and black glassware picked up all the different tones in the flowers and other décor elements.

To top it all off, they created a linen backdrop! This is a beautiful alternative to the floral or green walls seen so often. Layers of lush material were draped from a structure and paired with a floral mass arrangement which added to the romantic feel of the setting.
