Just when we thought things couldn’t get more creative or fun around here, Let’s Frolic Together sent over Lauren + Brian’s amaze cat-themed Ojai wedding! These two really knew how to craft a celebration that was a perfectly sweet reflection of their love + are sure to act as a pair of fab role models for couples wanting to make their day their own!
Lauren tells us, When we were planning our wedding, we really wanted to incorporate our two favorite things in the world, our cats. I think a lot of our friends heard “cat-themed wedding” and said, “Hmm. Sounds about right for you two!” We wanted to imbue our feline festivities with a vintage vibe, and we turned to postcards, children’s books, and porcelain figurines for inspiration. We even brought our two furry feline friends all the way to Ojai to join us!
When you want to go all out in the creative department (for instance, if you want to have a cat party!), it helps to have someone there to organize the wonderful chaos. L + B chose Lavender and Clove as their wedding planners + the team executed away while the two of them focused on the things that mattered most: cats, glitter, and the mountains.
We adore Lauren’s gold Sarah Seven dress from Lovely Bride. And how cool do her bridesmaids look in mismatched blue?!
Processional: Bridal Party: Ring the Bells – The Kinks Music; Bride: Cupid – Otis Redding
Recessional: Yub Nub – John Williams (Ewok Celebration Theme from Return of the Jedi)
First Dance: Rainbow Connection – Kermit the Frog
We will never forget our incredible ceremony. The second it started, it felt like time had frozen. The afternoon sun made everything glow. A close friend officiated the event, and she crafted a beautiful, heartfelt ceremony that felt intimate and personal, even as we stood in front of 100 people. We felt the love and support of everyone present. Near the end of the ceremony, we exchanged vows we each had written. This crystallized everything, how perfect the day felt and how perfect we felt for each other.
We can’t get enough of these fun cat details!!
Pick a theme that speaks to you, even if it’s not typical. We took our gut instincts and ran with them, and we loved the results. Planning a wedding can be stressful; there can be a lot of cooks in the kitchen. It makes it a lot easier to plan a wedding when you pick decorations and design elements that really speak to you. Don’t be afraid to just do what you both feel is right. You won’t regret it for a second!

Using opal on a wedding ring? Meow that’s an interesting choice!
