Let’s welcome this Tuesday with a super fun two-part wedding that you can’t help but love! The adorable duo above, Meghan + Patrick, put together a gorgeous celebration with a genius likeness to a Wes Anderson film. They envisioned a day filled with quirky, camping-inspired details, the perfect rustic setting, a killer playlist, and a fun, relaxed vibe. If you already like where this is heading, be sure to read on to hear more from Meghan, then scroll slooowly through all the photo goodness captured by none other than Pat Furey…
We had this vision for our wedding as the love child of the movie Meatballs and any Wes Anderson movie, dreamy visuals coupled with summer camp chaos. At first it seemed goofy, but when we started thinking about our friends and families scattered around the country, we really wanted everyone together for a weekend. Then we discovered Cedar Lakes Estate (also featured in our Top 26 Coolest Places to Get Married) and it was obvious we had to do it. We made it about us by carrying humor and whimsy through everything we did. Everyone we worked with ran with it, and we ended up with this incredibly fun event where everything reflected the original vision – invitations, favors, place settings, music, and several ways to launch people into the lake.
Why is it that we associate the color yellow with summer camp? It just seems to fit with the surroundings, right? Meghan found the perfect pair of yellow Nine West heels to pair with her lovely Monique Lhuillier lace dress + the rest of the vibe of the day! So everything kind of felt meant to be.
That great bouquet is by Glitter + Rye, who also event-designed this sweet shindig! Loving it, ladies.
The eclectic chair selection from Rent Patina’s inventory is ultra impressive + makes the ceremony setting so vibrant + fun!
M + P are serious music lovers and they put together a fun playlist for when their guests were being seated. Thought we’d share some of the jams in case you’re looking for some music inspiration for your big day:  Almanac by The Acorn, Blood by The Middle East, You and Me by Penny & The Quarters, I Like the Way This is Going by Eels, New Slang by The Shins, and Ziggy Stardust by Margot & The Nuclear So and So’s…
Processional: A Summer Song – Chad & Jeremy
Recessional: Making Time – The Creation
First Dance: Sing To Me – Walter Martin (feat. Karen O)
Such a fun one right?! And we are obsessed with the super detailed reception, and know you’ll love it too, so be sure to check back in just a bit to see it! :)
