The major elements of a whimsical wedding can often be difficult to pinpoint. Mystery is, after all, a hallmark of whimsy. But today’s stunning wedding inspiration lays forth the perfect groundwork on which to build. First and foremost, you cannot host a whimsical wedding if you don’t have a whimsical location! This day took place in an orangerie on the grounds of Gut Ostenwalde, a historical estate in Melle, Germany. Can’t you just feel the romance in that sentence alone?!
Sophie Papendick (planner and concept creator) and Nicole Saf-Funk (event designer) had one simple goal: to encourage couples to think outside the box. With a slightly mysterious but elegant setting, the wow factor is in the details of it all.
Are you ready to explore the estate? Let Aysenur Kurban‘s stunning photos lead the way to whimsy!
And off we go into the woods!
Perfect Bridal Pony
The bride wore a low pony by Claudia Astorino that is just SO dreamy with the v-back on her dress.
Whimsical Wedding Decor
Give us a combo of neutral blooms, gauzy drapes, candles, a fog machine, and a neon sign and we are DONE.
Whimsical Wedding Dress
There’s a dreamy shimmer on this MUSE by Berta dress that makes for a stunning bridal centerpiece. And how good are those tulle sleeves over the heart-shaped neckline?
The Orangerie
An orangerie is a building dedicated to protecting orange trees and other fruit trees during the winter. They were built during the 17th to 19th centuries, akin to a modern greenhouse. (This Italian orangerie was host to another equally dreamy wedding!)
The florals by Ricarda Grimm look as if they belonged in the orangerie all along. So much texture here to parallel the historic building and catch that dreamy daylight!
Loving this minimal menu design by Nida.
How gorgeous is this cake by Panteha Jamalpour? The organic feel of the design blends perfectly with the setting!
All the romance and all the whimsy! Cheers to the talented team behind the day for sharing your inspiration!
