about us
My name is Shawna (she/her) and I am an Elopement Photographer & Designer. I'm originally from Vancouver, Canada, and that is where my love for photography began. These days, I live in the Dolomites (Italy). Here, I spend my days hiking, rock climbing, doing via ferratas, and doing yoga/pilates classes at my local studio. Realistically speaking, the majority of my days are spent indoors on my computer screens working an unhealthy amount, but I enjoy the sun on my skin as much as I can in this beautiful place I've chosen to call home. I specialize in the places I know best: the Dolomites, Alps, Iceland, Slovenia, and Squamish. I work hard to build the perfect itineraries for my clients and help them choose a location that really represents them as a couple. Having travelled to over 60 countries on a shoe string, I'm also pretty well versed in creating experiences in other countries. So if you're thinking of eloping somewhere else, just ask!

First of all, I truly believe in experience > photography. With that in mind, the best photos always follow. It's never hard to create great photography when my clients are loving everything about their day! To me, it's super important to keep the color and editing authentic to the day. I don't use trendy presets that will be dated in 5-10 years time, I keep things timeless so you can enjoy them throughout your lives. People often hire me because of that, and also because they love my blue hour photos. I think some of the best lighting happens after the sun goes down, and I'm not afraid of the dark. You can get so creative post-sunset, and it's a shame that some people call it a day when the sun is gone.

I love that a wedding day can be anything a couple wants it to be; there are no rules anymore. Whether we are chasing the midnight sun in Iceland, scaling a granite peak in Squamish, or setting up a fresh espresso picnic in the Dolomites, I love that these days have become a pure, intentional reflection of a couple's unique style and values. For my clients, my drive for these wild, non-traditional celebrations means they get an unshakeable, deeply invested teammate. Because I care so much about the experience behind the photos, I handle the logistics, scout the backup trails, and bring 110% of my energy to the day. My couples get to completely let go and be present, knowing I’m right there with them to turn their dream adventure into an absolute core memory.

My bag is always packed. I am fully available for travel to anywhere in Europe, Western Canada, and some other specific places. If fact, I really do specialize in elopements; I started building this foundation 10 years ago. I go where your story takes me. The Travel Policy: To keep things entirely stress-free for my couples, my travel fees are typically baked right into my collections. This means no hidden costs, no surprise receipts after the wedding, and no logistics for you to figure out. I handle all of my own booking, flights, and accommodations.
