Say Aloha to the New Kid on the Block: Wailea Beach Resort! Last fall, our family took a trip to one of our favorite places – Maui! – and stayed at the gorgeous Wailea Beach Resort. Maui is one of my all-time favorite travel destinations, and I always jump at the chance to come back. The beaches are some of the most beautiful in the world, with crystal clear waters and soft, golden sand. And there’s so much to do – from hiking through lush rainforests to snorkeling with sea turtles, Maui has something for everyone.
We’ve stayed at most of the other hotels on Wailea Beach and love the vibe there, so we were really excited to try a new – to us – hotel, the Wailea Beach Resort located in the gorgeous Wailea part of Maui.
The Rooms
First things first, let’s talk about the rooms. We stayed in a beautiful ocean view room with the most breathtaking view. The real showstopper for me was the amazing lanai. Each room is equipped with a private lanai and ours was literally steps from the lava stones and the Pacific Ocean! We’ve never had a room in Hawaii this close to the water, the sound of the waves and the stunning ocean views from our room and lanai were enough to make us never want to leave. I loved spending each morning on the lanai watching the sun come up, and then in the afternoon just watching the ocean with a book. It was so relaxing…I mean, right?!! Look at that view!
Pools, Beaches & Resort Activities
The resort has three distinct pool experiences. The adult pool (seen in the opening photo), an infinity pool with a view of the ocean, and then a family pool with 2 waterslides – and one is the longest resort waterslide in Maui! Our daughters loved the slides – well, who am I kidding? I loved the slides too!
They also offer lots of water activities such as an Outrigger Canoe experience which my family loved. You take an hour ride along the coast in an outrigger canoe and we saw dolphins and turtles! Such a fun way to start the morning.
They also have paddleboards, snorkeling, and more water activities. I love paddleboarding when in Hawaii so I took advantage of those. Early mornings are the calmest time to take these out. You can also learn more about the Hawaiian culture with ukulele lessons, lei making, and/or hula lessons.
When traveling, I always try to enjoy new things or plan special activities that make the trip even more special. Wailea Beach Resort has quite a few to choose from and we selected a beach picnic for one of our nights here – they also offer a private dinner for 2 on one of their floating cabanas that would be perfect for a honeymoon or anniversary trip.
They set up the prettiest picnic for us and it was fun to hang as a family and enjoy the sunset for the evening.
Weddings at Wailea Beach Resort

This sounds amazing and definitely would be great for honeymooners!

The resort’s location in Wailea Beach, Maui offers easy access to some of the island’s best dining, shopping, and activities at The Shops at Wailea. The Shops are literally just across a parking lot from the resort, you couldn’t even get an Uber for a trip this short. The area is known for its high-end shopping and dining options, making it the perfect place for couples to indulge and treat themselves. Our fave meal at The Shops we def at The Pint & Cork, both tasty and vibey. Our server did all of the ordering for us and everything, from drinks to shared plates to deserts, was fire.
Last but not least, as we already mentioned, the resort’s guest rooms are designed to maximize the views of the ocean, with a private lanai and a sophisticated and luxurious design that will make you feel like you are in a tropical paradise.
