When a new venue opened up in Lakeland, Florida with original whitewashed brick walls, 22-foot ceilings, and a unique history (first it was a grocery store in the 1920s, then a furniture warehouse!) it was the perfect blank canvas for Emily Grace Design! Situated in Central Florida, the area’s lush plant life, bright blooms, radiant sunshine, and rich history inspired the shoot’s overall design. After sitting vacant, the city of Lakeland revitalized the space now known as HAUS820, along with the surrounding areas, to give the once vibrant location a new life. The dark stained concrete floors, high ceilings with exposed beams, and large windows that span across two of the walls provided the prefect setting for Emily’s Old Florida style vision.
Emily tells us, The concept and design focused on bold patterns, bright colors, and a casual and organic feel. These wedding ideas would have been nothing without Tiffani Jones Photography and Rad Red Creative. They captured every single detail in the most beautiful ways, which allowed not only the charm of the space, but also the intentionality of each detail to really shine.
Let’s have a look at how it all came together–and be sure to catch Rad Red Creative‘s video at the end of the post!
A&P Designs created a romantically vintage invitation suite to set the tone. Loving this already!
Marigold Flower Co. used a variety of large, leafy greenery to accent their bold floral full of bright oranges, yellows, and pinks.
Such a lush ceremony backdrop! The asymmetrical style of the created a natural feel that totally pops off the white walls.
Our bride and groom are not only a beautiful couple, but full of so much genuine joy and love. We wanted to keep their style sharp, but with a more casual twist. Spring and summer in Florida can really heat up, so we wanted to be mindful of that when pulling together our look for our groom. We chose a tan suit, from The Groomsman Suit, with an open dress shirt and no tie as a way to balance the formality of a wedding with the heat of Florida.
Emily teamed up with Lisa at Wish Vintage Rentals to create a look centered around vintage Florida relics–from Florida prints, gator and flamingo trinkets, bamboo details, the scene made for a lush + organic botanical feel.
LOVE this seating area! If you’re wondering how to incorporate this look into your home (same), we’re one step ahead of you. Here are a few essentials to shop for a vintage-y summer home refresh:
One of my absolutely favorite features from the shoot was our table design. Wish Vintage Rentals provided their farm table and chairs, while we used tabletop pieces from The Treasury by Emily Grace Design to create a design that mixed natural wood elements, stoneware dishes and modern flatware as a compliment to the more industrial feel to the space, and added the fruit atop the leaf detailed salad plates as a nod to our Florida style. The centerpieces complimented the design with the bright florals in white cement containers, again, to compliment both our space and style.
LOVE it! We can taste those refreshing cocktails now…

No wedding is complete without the sweet treats to close out the night, and Hands On Sweets took our Old Florida style, and created something beyond our imagination. The cake featured painted flowers with brightly colored sugar flowers cascading along the front. My favorite part though was the custom Florida-shaped cookies with vintage tropical patterns. Not only did they make a cute favor for guests, but they were absolutely delicious!
Yep, safe to say we’re obsessed with the cake and these cookies. And the punchy, vintage print details from Kate Ryan Linens are so fun!
The bride wore a gown from The White Magnolia with subtle lace detailing and beautiful, floating movement that moved with the Florida breeze. So romantic!
Lasting Luxe‘s hair + makeup expertise added to the romance!
We can’t get over the bold colors and cascade of this bouquet by Marigold Flower Co.!
