Vintage Bohemian Winter Wedding: Julia + Mike

Winter Bohemian Wedding

With floral installations you have to see to believe, and an ultra-charming bohemian vibe, today’s snowy Vancouver wedding comes at a perfect time since many of you see a similar scene when you look out of your windows today! Julia + Mike threw a beautiful, meaningful celebration at The Boathouse Restaurant, proceeded by an emotional vow exchange at beautiful VanDusen Botanical Gardens, and we just love all they ways these two personalized those settings.

Julia is a fashion designer by trade, so it goes without saying that creativity runs deep in her veins. The design concept was a collaborative effort between the bride herself, florist, Heather, from Greenstems, event planner, Aly Armstrong, and the stylists at Hunt & Gather Collective. The venues were filled with a sweet, vintage vibe and are sure to act as great inspiration for all of you planning a wedding in the fall or winter months!

Thanks so much to Ainsley Rose Photography for the photos and congrats to Julia + Mike on a beautiful day!

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

When we saw each other for the first time at either end of the aisle, it was as if time stood still for a minute. The chaos of the weather outside and the nerves of standing in front of everyone all disappeared, it was just us. It was calming, and real. The second best moment of the night was getting back to our bridal suite at the Fairmount Pacific Rim and ordering a grilled cheese with tomato soup. We devoured it in bed before even having the chance to take off our wedding clothes!

We love these rainy shots almost as much as the earlier snowy ones!

Aly Armstrong shares, The hanging floral feature above the head table, and garlands down the centre of each guest table, contributed to the enchanted, Westcoast vibe. A mix of gold candlesticks holding black (yes black!) candlesticks adorned each table, along with an eclectic mix of succulents, cafe au lait dahlias and unique air plants displayed under cloches.
