Congratulations are in order for Vic Fuentes and Danielle Victoria! The lead singer of Pierce the Veil proposed to his girlfriend of nine years in the seaside town of Trinidad, California.
Danielle, an actor and model, received a call in 2012 that would eventually change her life. Danielle was asked to star in an upcoming music video for the band, which she remembered from her days attending Warped Tour, but never listened to on her own. When describing that day on set Danielle remembers, “Vic is the first person I saw and spoke to. I had no idea what the band members looked like so I assumed he was part of the crew, but to my surprise, he was the lead singer… OOPS! We hit it off immediately and he showed me to wardrobe, hair, and makeup. All day on set we kept gravitating towards each other. Almost every free moment we had, we were together that day. We exchanged numbers when we wrapped onset and the rest is history!”
Let’s get into the proposal deets…and the gorgeous engagement photos shot by Jordan Voth!
Snuggling by the Fire
Danielle and Vic’s proposal story is almost as cute as how they first met! For her birthday, Danielle wanted to take a road trip to see her family outside of Santa Barbra, enjoy wine country, and finish off in Trinidad, California. Known for its coastline and redwoods, Trinidad has held a special place in Danielle’s heart since childhood.
The couple rented a cabin overlooking the ocean to spend Danielle’s birthday and invited her mother to join in on the festivities. Vic then asked Danielle to wait in the house for a moment while he prepped her “gift” – something that was a total surprise!
As she was invited to join Vic outside, the sound of music by The Postal Service played (one of their first concerts as a couple), and Danielle was surrounded by candles and flowers overlooking the ocean. Vic poured his heart out to the love of his life, and popped the magic question!
He starts this beautiful speech about how much I mean to him, and he got down on one knee… and I completely blacked out as soon as I realized what was happening. I remember not one word of what was said… I was shocked to learn this is common when I started telling my friends the story!
Depth of Love
When it came to their engagement shoot, Trinidad, California was the only place that felt right! The beautiful coastal town was the perfect setting for a moody and romantic vibe.
The backdrop and the couple themselves weren’t the only extraordinary elements of this photoshoot. Danielle wore not one, but two stunning dresses. This one by Rue de Seine was a boho dream made for flowing in the wind.
The redwoods are so dark and moody I really wanted a good contrast against them. So I picked light dress colors that would really make an impact.
Vic and Danielle treated themselves to a few shots while enjoying the day!
Into the Redwoods
For her second dress, Danielle wore a stunning Teuta Matoshi gown. The light color and shimmery design perfectly complemented her striking red hair and enhanced green tones of the forest.
The sun’s glow shone through Danielle’s dress and gave an effortless, ethereal tone to the shoot.
My advice to couples planning their engagement photos is to pick a place that’s special to you and remember to HAVE FUN. These photos are just for you to remember this time in your life, so don’t take them too seriously. Don’t get upset if your hair isn’t perfect or if an earring breaks. That’s not what the day is about. It really does make a difference in the whole mood of the day if you are focused more on having fun and making memories than trying to get the “perfect shot".
Vic and Danielle made sure to sneak in some cute kisses!
The couple ran away together into their bright, exciting future.
Jordan Voth, their longtime friend, was a no-brainer choice for capturing their engagement photos. Every photo truly comes to life!
Congrats, Vic and Danielle, from the whole team at GWS! We can’t wait to see your beautiful wedding in April 2022!
