When we’re all done starring at those gorgeous red locks, we’ll go ahead + share today’s pretty editorial – one that’s sure to inspire couples who are considering an elopement in a far off place. Photog extraordinaire, Coco Tran, teamed up with Shannon of Thistle and Honey to stage a stunning elopement in the mountains. We’re positively smitten with those punchy florals (peonies, clematis, garden roses, sweet pea, spirea, and more in case you were curious!) and the idea of a sweet lakeside picnic with your love, post vow-exchange. Here’s a little bit more about the shoot, straight from Coco:
Being part of the wedding industry, often times vendors get a view into what its really like to plan a wedding – all of the details, all of the people you need to please, and all of the stress that goes along with it. Now don’t get me wrong, I LIVE for beautiful weddings and happy couples, but for some couples an elopement is the right choice. I think often times people automatically associate an elopement with a drive through chapel or a quick jaunt to your local city hall. Elopements can be so much more than that. You do not need to sacrifice style, details, and beauty just because you don’t plan to have 250 people watching you!
One of our fave BHLDN dresses was used for this one, the Annabelle, which is completely convertible with a tulle sash than can be styled over 15 different ways.
This shoot took place in the Sierra Nevada mountains, at a remote lake. This elopement setting would be perfect for the couple that loves to travel and loves adventure and nature. Instead of your traditional reception, we set up a beautiful picnic for the couple to enjoy and relax after they exchange their vows. An elopement such as this could easily be followed by a backyard “reception” celebration with family and friends. Alternatively, cues can be taken from this shoot and turned into a beautiful camping wedding!
A messy side knot adorned with pink + white buds is such a great look!
Thanks so much to the talented team below for sharing these lovely, vibrant elopement ideas with us today!
