Vibrant Industrial Denver Wedding: Katelyn + Dirk

Industrial Wedding

Katelyn + Dirk’s industrial Denver wedding venue may have been called Blanc, but it really was more than just an empty space, especially once the two of them, A Vintage Affair + Flora by Nora got their hands on it! Not only did the venue transform with long, family-style reception tables filled with bright, local blooms, but K + D worked with their vendor team to create a focal piece for the reception totally inspired by the creative + colorful antler monogram displayed on their wedding invitations. Dirk created a real life 3D version – which matched the invite suite exactly – and Flora by Nora filled the box with beautiful blooms, making the replica gorgeously complete. When you have something so personal + unique to capture, having a good photographer on board is a must. And let’s just say, June Photography definitely didn’t disappoint! Below, the beautiful bride tells us more about the design + the day:

Katelyn tells us, Dirk and I wanted our day to be a reflection of us and who we are. We truly made our day about us, and celebrating our love with our closest friends and family. We found inspiration in who we are, where we live, and what we enjoy doing together. We both planned everything together through the entire process. We knew exactly how we wanted that day to feel. We didn’t want it to feel stuffy and uptight, but rather soft, warm, and relaxing. We wanted it to feel as though we were having friends and family over for a dinner party in our backyard, all without losing the romance of the day. Our venue was the base that help us tie all of that together and was right was in our neighborhood –only 6 blocks from our home! And it really felt like an extension of our home.

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

Katelyn: The most memorable moment was when the pouring rain stopped and the sun came out exactly at the moment we saw each other for the first time during our first look. The entire week and weekend leading up to our day was consistent pouring rain, even as I was putting on my dress it was storming. We decided to rent tents and umbrellas last minute, due to the unusual weather. As I walked out on the bridge to meet Dirk for the first time, I had to use an umbrella to stay dry. As we got closer to each other the rain stopped. We saw one another, held each other, and the sun came out to stay! I’m so glad our photographer June, was able to capture that exact moment in our photos.

Dirk: Seeing Katelyn walk down the aisle. Worrying and stressing about all the details, making sure everyone is having fun, and all the money spent, all disappeared the second I saw her walking towards me. For those few minutes, nothing else mattered and it was just the two of us in that moment. That’s what I’ll remember most about that day 50 years from now.

And here’s a close-up of the antler monogram from the invitation. The Flora by Nora team says, The groom put so much time and love into building the framework for that, and it was SO fun to bring the monogram to life.
