A Unique, Vintage-Inspired New Orleans Wedding at Hotel Peter & Paul

We wanted the entire experience to feel like us,” say bride Asia + groom Mani about their super-special New Orleans wedding day. “It was important that our guests experience some of our favorite things and things we just thought were really cool.

With the help of planner and event designer Amélie from The Uncommon Camellia, the couple packed the celebration with unique, personal touches. Asia’s dress was a nod to her mom’s wedding dress. Mani wore an embroidered custom green suit. Not to mention there was roller skating and a towering, pink wedding cake!

Another thing that made this day special was the venue they chose. Once a catholic church, school, and convent, the very photogenic vintage-inspired Hotel Peter & Paul includes multiple buildings and takes up a whole block of New Orleans’ Marigny neighborhood. The ceremony and reception took place in the venue’s catholic-church-turned-event-space full of stained glass windows, and the couple also popped over to the hotel itself for some gorgeous photos!

Photographer Hannah Rosser put it best when she said: “Asia + Mani’s deep love for one another was evident, and their wedding truly matched their own personalities.”

Let’s take a peek!!

We’re obsessed with the bold sparkle of Asia’s MACH & MACH platform heels.

Asia always wanted to wear her mother’s wedding dress on her big day, but sadly it was lost to a flood in Asia’s childhood home. When she started dress shopping, Asia tried on a Galia Lahav gown and immediately loved the way she looked and felt, so she set out to find a dress from the designer that reminded her of her mom’s. She tracked down this honeycomb lace plunge neckline stunner at bridal boutique Aisle Chic in Chicago and knew it was the one because the sleeves felt like a nod to her mom’s lost wedding gown!

Also, say hello to the couple’s beloved pup, Pig!

Mani’s chic-yet-old-world sage green double breasted suit is the perfect look for this venue and for the whole wedding’s vibe. Check out this similar one from Banana Republic!

The Ceremony

Sharime Kayla created those lush floral towers behind the happy couple as well as the rest of the day’s gorgeous pink flowers.

Asia + Mani’s big day was extra significant because of health challenges Mani has been facing. Having many times been unsure of whether to push the wedding date, the couple decided to go forward with the big day and their love for each other was totally palpable.

We can’t get over this VENUE!

Our Musical Choices

Processional: "Flashing Lights" by Kanye West + "Halo" by Beyoncé (played by a string quartet)

Recessional: "Ultra Light Beam" by Kanye West

First Dance: "Never Too Much" by Luther Vandross

“Our wedding almost didn’t happen,” say Asia + Mani. “It was such a blessing that it was so perfect. Mani was hospitalized two weeks before the wedding and underwent a life saving heart surgery. His strength, determination and love for Asia got him down the aisle.

“It made everything that much more important to us…that much more special,” the couple says. “We celebrated big on our big day and we will always remember our journey to the alter.”

The Reception

Bacchanal Catering created an epic feast for Asia + Mani’s reception. The hand-drawn vibes of these menus and escort cards remind us of these from Pulp!

Asia’s relaxed updo was created by Tiffany An. Hair, and her smokey glam makeup look came from Chanellmmakeup. And! Those gorg, sparkly bridal nails were the work of Spifster Sutton!

Strap On Your Skates!

How fun are these orange suede “Lolly” roller skates by Moxi?!

“After dinner, the bride surprised everyone with a dress change into a pink mini-dress and rollerblades and her dad came out on rollerblades as well!” says photographer Hannah Rosser. “They pushed through the crowd of guests and skated around the entire cathedral before heading to the dance floor. Everyone’s jaw dropped and they cheered as they skated around which was the highlight of the day!”

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

From Asia: "For me, Mani’s vows. I was so touched by the words he spoke to me. I’ll carry them in my heart always. Another memorable part was my father daughter skate with my dad. That was a big deal for me and so much fun!!! Mani’s most memorable moment was the first look and standing at the alter. Seeing me for the first time and standing in that moment stuck with him."

Asia’s pink mini dress reception look is so feminine and fun!! Shop this similar drop waist blush mini dress from Hello Molly.
