“Some people choose to see the ugliness in this world. The disarray. I choose to see the beauty.” If you’re a fan of Westworld, you probably already know that iconic line from Delores. And if you were familiar with that, there’s a good chance you’ll recognize the location of today’s Western wedding! Hint: there’s a chapel without a steeple involved…
Tay + Caleb hustled to make the day come together before his training as a VC Firefighter started (which would completely consume his schedule). Their neighbor, Kori of LB Events, took the helm as their coordinator, and friends + family stepped in to officiate and provide entertainment. The goddess duo at Wildflowers Floral Design wove just the right amount of whimsy into the already picturesque setting.
Take a peek at their modern meets Western day at Paramount Ranch in the snaps from Wild Whim Design (shot with the assistance of Nicole Catherine Photo).
The Outfits
Hello, GORGEOUS! Tay tells us: My wedding dress was actually a gift from my mother-in-law! She found it online for $100 — a steal, right?!
We’re all about Caleb’s tweed suit from ASOS. Doesn’t he look sharp?! Here are a few of our other fave suit options:

I gave the girls a color of soft blush pink and let them choose whatever dress they liked! I wanted them to look like themselves and get a dress they would want to wear again. :)
Vows in Front of the (New) Old Chapel
Does that chapel look familiar to you? If so, we’re guessing you’re a Westworld fan… Yup, the chapel was created + used for the series!
The team at Wildflowers Floral Design dressed up the chapel with tons of foliage. Stunning, isn’t it?
For those that are struggling to decide between a church wedding or having it outdoors — this is the best of both worlds!
Processional: Come Thou Fount (Instrumental Version), played by my best friend, Mary, on the banjo
Recessional: Come Thou Fount with words, played by my best friend, Mary, on the banjo
First Dance: Summer Wind by Frank Sinatra
The Newlyweds
My goodness, they look so CUTE together!
Hello, SPRING! We love the modern look of Tay’s dressed paired with the cheery florals from Wildflowers Floral Design. And what California wedding is complete without a few poppies?
The Wedding Party
The blush pink + the brown suits truly complemented the natural environment, grounding the palette while still making it bright + cheery.
Western Reception
Fun Fact: 2,700 acres of the old Rancho Las Virgenes was purchased in 1927 and built by Paramount Pictures to be used as a “movie ranch.” That’s right — this is not really an old ghost town, but was built for movie sets! If you want to go visit for yourself, look up Paramount Ranch.
The most memorable moment was dancing with Caleb, for our first dance. Being in my husband's arms, looking around and being fully surrounded by everyone we love (over 300 guests!) was the most surreal moment.
Colorful Smoke Bomb Exit
YES!!!
We’re calling it now — colorful smoke bomb exits are going to become a THING. So fun, right?!
Keep it simple and let your wedding be focused on your love. Most of all — have fun!
We wanted the wedding to feel free and easy going as if you were going to a friends for a BBQ. We loved the western backdrop, complete with green meadow and the most beautiful little chapel. We kept it very simple and made the day about celebrating with everyone we love.
WOW, WOW, WOW. Wasn’t that spectacular?!
A million congratulations + best wishes to the both of you!
