This past June, Atlas Design Studios planned a wedding at Gundlach Bundschu in Sonoma for a couple blending their families in 70’s style! Bride Tessa came to the planning and event design team with a vision for a Psychedelic Rodeo (you heard that right!!🐎 ) incorporating bright colors, a live band, and a wandering-styled reception with food stations and mixed tables to keep the party alive all night!
The couple, Tessa and Maynard, wanted to create rodeo moments in the vineyards and make the night feel like a music festival for their guests with colorful lights and special events throughout the entire day. To document the celebration, Silver Seas Weddings showed up camera in hand, and to add pops of color to their already vibrant day, Beijaflor Botanicals created the most gorgeous floral design and a bouquet you are going to love!! Let’s see how it all played out!
Welcome to the Rodeo!
This bridal party got ready in STYLE! How fun are these vibrant floral robes they rocked while LB Artistry got the lady’s hair and makeup ready?!
This groom in maroon is a WINNER! We love how he ‘roped in’ the rodeo theme with his bolo tie! 😉
The bride’s flower crown is giving us MAJOR 70’s vibes!
Tessa had one dress, but it started with long bell sleeves and a vintage veil, and then transitioned to a sleeveless gown and cowboy boots for the party! We love a versatile moment!!
An Entry Like No Other
The guests started with a pre-ceremony cocktail hour. They were led through a multicolor wine cave with a trumpeter and band processional before opening out to the vineyard view for the ceremony! What an entry!!
Music played a HUGE role in this couple’s wedding, keeping guests alive and dancing the entire night!
All around, breathtaking!
Processional: Fall For You by Leela James and Let's Get Married by Jagged Edge
Recessional: You Are the Best Thing by Ray LaMontagne
First Dance: Give it All We Got Tonight
A bridesmaid that doubles as a flower girl? …Yes, please! This bridesmaid tossed petals from an oversized wine glass and we CANNOT get enough of it!!
Why walk down the aisle when you can dance! The bride shared this adorable moment with her father as they danced down the aisle!
This cape really dressed up the bride’s look for the ceremony! So regal…so chic!! 😍
Even better, we’ve rounded up the best bridal capes for your big day that we know you won’t want to miss!
Hooray! These two are officially husband and wife!
A Reception to Remember
We’ve taken note of the color scheme throughout the day and love how the pops of orange complement the dusty blue decor we’ve seen from the ceremony to the reception!
How gorgeous is this blue floral cake by Supreme Sweets?!!
After the ceremony, guests were met with multiple food stations: including a pig roast and endless new dishes being introduced throughout the evening. Guests enjoyed folk music from Carolyn Sills Band and a full LED light show on stage! T + M wanted it to be a fun upbeat wedding which is why they chose a wandering reception with multiple food stations to keep people constantly up and moving!
Meet Us On the Dance Floor
For me it was simply the theme - psychedelic rodeo was so fun! We had a cow print bar, everyone was dressed in their most printed and colorful attire, and the endless options for food made it really special. The LED light wall behind the band made it a festival vibe!
Dance was very important to the couple so they had an instructor teach line dancing to the crowd and once Tessa changed into her cowboy boots she and Maynard were unstoppable on the dance floor!
You don't need to worry about your wedding being "timeless" have it reflect you two as a couple and what your style is to make it unique!
Congratulations to Tessa and Maynard! Your wedding day was fantastic and truly one that your guests will never forget! Here’s to many more years of happiness…and dancing of course! 🕺
