We’re so thrilled to share a new home tour on GWS today! Brian + Simona’s first home is a *stunning* modern Denver loft, filled with bright light, high ceilings, and unique features throughout. Looking to make the space a bit more cozy, the couple called on Layne Kula help make their collective vision a reality.
Layne has lots of great tips to share — here’s what she had to tell us about the space and the inspiration: Brian + Simona are very important people in my life and when they approached me to design their stunning Denver loft, it couldn’t have been more perfect. They wanted to incorporate natural elements that would bring the outside in, and feature special pieces that they’ve found and collected together. We were able to achieve that by sourcing trinkets and treasures from local shops, weekend getaways, and experiences that helped fill out the loft in an intimate way. Incorporating bright pastels, vibrant whites, modern florals, vintage pieces, and negative space, the end result feels effortlessly curated and cozy and sets the tone for the newlyweds’ many adventures. It’s a perfect combination of Brian + Simona’s authentic selves.
When the project (which they liked to call, “Operation: Boho Barbie Dream House”) was completed, Layne thought it would be fun to design and style a “new homeowners” session with the B + S in their space. We agree — SO fun!
Let’s have a look at Chandler Kim‘s photos from the final outcome!
There are SO many things to love about Brian + Simona’s home! Loving this look? Here are some of our fav furniture picks:
It’s definitely a bohemian-inspired space, and rarely do you see that done in a modern setting. We drew on inspiration and key elements that we loved, and also pinpointed elements that we didn’t like in order to zero in on the kind of environment we hoped to build.
Looks like cuties, Boon + Bean, found their new favorite spot in this Serena and Lily hanging rattan chair!
Boho decor is kinda our favorite thing:
Are you absolutely in love with that floral wallpaper like we are?! Such a perfect POP in the bright space! It’s by Ellie Cashman…and seriously dreamy.
It’s important to make your house feel like a home. Even if you prefer the modern style, you never want to feel like you’re living in a museum. Embrace your quirkiness and imperfections to incorporate them into your space. It’s those details and nuances that make your home uniquely yours. Don’t be afraid to mix prints, choose unexpected colors, and pull pieces that may feel a little bit “out there.” There’s no such thing as right or wrong — if you love it, make it work!
Such a great space — and what better to begin your new life together than merge your styles for a home that feel just like you? Thanks so much to Layne Kula for sharing!
