The Land of the Free-Spirited + Home of the Brave: Americana Wedding Inspiration

Happy *almost* 4th everyone!! We hope you all are able to relax, hang out with friends + family, and celebrate in big ways! And for those looking for ways to proudly incorporate some Americana into their day, we are sure this GORGEOUS styled editorial will help inspire and leave you with a feeling of great pride as we all love this amazing country we are proud to call home…

Celebrating Independence Day, patriotism is abundant + free in today’s styled shoot designed by Avenue Twelve + planned by Sandcastle Celebrations! Embodying the GWS standard of non-traditional + creative weddings, Avenue Twelve gathered a group of insanely talented vendors along California’s Central Coast to highlight how a couple could display their deep love for each other + their country. Photographer Alexandra Wallace shares The inspiration behind the day is an artistic expression of our country’s past and current political environment, which includes our inherited history of revolution. The fabric of America hangs in the balance of tradition and rebelliousness. Many couples today struggle with this same balance in planning their wedding day, so we wanted to showcase that in a meaningful and impactful way.

Cool, right? Let’s head to the White Barn, the newest special events venue in the San Luis Obispo area to see all the red, white, + blue!

Setting the tone for an edgier sort of day with one seriously rad font, this invitation suite was crafted by Eva Zellmer.

What a venue!! The White Barn’s scenic views, idyllic setting, and distinctive character are breathtaking + historical. For generations, it has been a family owned and operated farm and now is serving as a venue for specialty events. The farm land surrounding the barn is lush with a variety of vegetables throughout the year, adding the farm feel to the property.

Isn’t this lounge space incredible? The photographer shares We sought to create something beautiful, rugged and free-spirited without being overly trendy. A majority of wedding inspo that we see today tends to lean more feminine in design, so we wanted to test this ritual by laying the foundation for a masculine feel with feminine layers to create a distinct juxtaposition as the backdrop for a timeless love story.

Please note: remember to respect the flag and it should never touch the ground!

That pretty bauble on the bride’s ring finger is by Trumpet and Horn.

Specialty cocktails + hor d’oeuvres from Gusto on the Go? Yes, PLEASE!!

That gorgeous lace gown the bride is wearing? It’s by one of our favorites: BHLDN!

Eden Floral SLO brought all the summery vibes to the table with this gorgeous floral centerpiece!

A collection of succulents, a white barn, and our gorgeous flag… We couldn’t imagine a better combination for a July wedding!

Blackberry pie + mini blueberry delights… And crimson macarons? These sweet treats from Paper Cake Events are too good to be true!!

Wasn’t that cool?! We love the display of patriotism + inspiration to celebrate this amazing country in a super rad way!

Happy + safe 4th to everyone!! And to really get you in the spirit, check out this video by Bared Soul!
