When last-minute storm damage caused them to switch venues two weeks before their wedding day, Hannah + Dave rolled up their sleeves and got to work. What could easily have been every couple’s nightmare, turned into the dreamiest Palm Springs wedding complete with boho pampas grass decor, design inspiration from Southeast Asia and Mexico, vintage-inspired rentals and attire, loads of handmade details and a pool party! With the help of planners The Walk Down The Aisle, H + D tied the knot at Villa Royale hotel and danced the night away at Mr. Lyons without a care in the world!
H shared with us how they turned “Plan B” into their dream wedding:
In the weeks leading to the wedding, we were notified that our wedding venue had sustained major storm damages and needed construction. We would not be able to host our wedding there. So, when most brides are putting the final touches in place … what was I doing in the two weeks before my wedding? Arranging the seating chart, renting chairs for the ceremony, discussing food/desert/alcohol options, renting a vintage trailer for the bar, and finalizing a lounge space for cocktail hour. To this day I look back and cannot believe how perfect the day turned out. Was I stressed beyond belief? Absolutely. Did I consider giving up and calling it all off? 100%. Was it entirely worth it and turned out to be the best day of my life? HANDS DOWN!

Both the bridesmaids and groomsmen donned mustard yellow for this Palm Springs wedding! The gals rocked V Chapman Studio “Lily”, “Dhalia”, and “Olivia” dresses in Chia Tea. Jessica Tyransky got everyone wedding day ready with beautiful hair and makeup looks!

D had the perfect vintage vibes going on with attire from Gold Coast Goods, J.Crew and shoes from Red Wing Heritage. Can you believe his jacket was a $20 vintage find??
A total vision! H looked stunning in a flowing Alexandra Grecco gown from The Dress Theory. We’re in love with that billowing skirt!
Siren Floral Co. designed the florals for the day. How gorgeous are those garden roses in H’s bouquet?? The coral, peach and cream color palette of the florals is so warm and inviting.
Bride + Groom
Here are a few details from our Wedding day that I think made it extra special!
-Despite our original venue taking a huge hit from a storm, their South East Asian temple inside their venue sustained zero damage. We were able to take a few of our one on one photos in front of the beautifully crafted wooden temple.
-After the ceremony, we squeezed away to take some photos on our vintage 1972 Honda CB 350 motorcycle in an abandoned Palm Springs lot.
-To surprise everyone on Cinco De Mayo weekend, we hired a live mariachi band to kick the reception off after our first dances together!
-I gifted my husband with a privately shared drink at Seymour's speakeasy before we kicked off the Grand Entrance to slow down and share a sweet moment of love together.
-And to top it all off, we hosted a pool party the next day at the Villa Royale.
So glad H + D got to snap some photos in front of the South East Asian temple inside their original venue. How stunning are these?!

Restaurant Reception
Planks and Patina provided some rad mid-century modern furniture rentals while Drew McGill set up a fun photo booth for guests inside the reception space.
Despite the last minute venue switch and planning craziness, H found time to DIY these copper pipe table numbers. So cute!
Since they got engaged in Bali, H + D wanted to gift their guess with some awesome sage smudge sticks!

H + D were able to dance the night away with music by their friend, Nick Shattuck.
My advice to any future bride is sometimes those small details you stress out about, that causes you heartache, or a few grey hairs are not worth it. Let me tell you, no one cared that I used restaurant stock white napkins at my tables or that I had to make table numbers two days before my wedding out of copper pipe and wood. Not a soul batted an eye that I didn’t have the backdrop that I originally wanted for my wedding so to spice it up I used my living room rug!
Hannah + Dave, thanks for showing us all that even though wedding planning can throw some serious hurdles, you can still have the dreamiest wedding. Your style and love for each other really shines through the day! Congratulations from the GWS team!
