If you thought 2020 could stop bridal fashion, you thought wrong. Valmont Barcelona Fashion Week is always a force and we’re happy to say, 2020 was no different. We (virtually) attended the show to bring you the top 2021 bridal trends from designers like Pronovias and Yolancris. And if we learned anything from The Devil Wears Prada it’s that so goes the runway, so goes the rest of the world. A few bridal trends seem ripe for 2021 while others are ready for a fashionista bride who will take the risk. Where will you fall? {above: Yumi Katsura}

Let’s take a look at the trends!

2021 Bridal Trends: Two-Piece Wedding Dresses

No short amount of two-piece wedding dresses made their way down the aisle…catwalk…this year. We love how a two-piece gown can actually come in all shapes in designs — not boxed in to any one style.

Long Puffy Sleeves

With puffy sleeves sliding easily into mainstream ready-to-wear fashion, it’s no surprise the upscale-prairie look is finding its way into wedding style. We, for one, LOVE the romantic nostalgia that is a puffy sleeve!

Bridal Capes

Bridal capes are still going strong into 2021 – and we’re willing to bet they stay around for a while. A whimsical alternative to the veil, capes are taking on fun new design elements like bows, polka dots, and even color.

Sustainable Gowns

Sustainability is certainly not just a trend. It’s the way the world is going, and we’re just thrilled to see sustainability walking down the bridal catwalk. With sustainability at the forefront for more brands, eco-friendly gowns will not only become more attainable, they’ll start leading the way by all fashionable accounts. These gowns are all from Pronovias‘ portfolio of brands. The fashion house aims to have 50 percent of its collections sustainable by 2025.
