Sweet + Cozy Engagement Session in a Tiny House

When the photographer dubs a shoot, “my most dreamy session ever,” we pay attention! Especially when that photographer is Rachel of RachelLizPhotography! We were delighted to find that Rachel wasnt joking — this cozy engagement shoot reminds us of rainy-day cuddle sessions, and what could be better than that?! She followed Breanna + Kevin as they bounced between the cutest tiny home and a rocky beach, radiating love + romance along the way:

Our session began with Breanna + Kevin taking us out on a boat to Sodus Point, New York, where their families own a series of unbelievably adorable tiny houses. One of them was not fully finished and had sheets hanging from the windows. It was, by far, the most dreamy! We swung in hammocks, ran on the beach, and danced in the tiny house.

This one begs for a warm cup of something delicious! Turn on the kettle, cozy up, and feel the love!

The Story

Kevin and I have known each other since middle school. We had lots of mutual friends but we never became friends until after high school. Our story began the summer of 2013 when we ran into each other at one of our hometown’s local bars.

We had been casually chatting through text for a few weeks up until then. As the end of the night was closing in, I sat down next to him and we started talking a bit. He asked me if I wanted to go outside away from the noise. We ended up walking and talking all the way to the end of the pier at the Sodus Point Beach. We had our first kiss under the stars in front the lighthouse. It was absolutely perfect. We then walked to the beach where I insisted on showing him how “great” my cartwheels were, then tried to get him to show me if he could cartwheel! That night was one of the happiest moments of my life and I’ll never forget it.

The Proposal

Fast forward to New Years Eve 2016…it was a warm night with barely any snow on the ground. We went down to the beach, like we often do, before our dinner reservation at The Bay Street Hotel. We were so excited because we were days away from closing on our beautiful home and everything just seemed to be falling into place. Right at the shoreline Kevin got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. After I said yes, he stood up and asked, ” Do you want to show me those cartwheels again!?” It was all just so beautiful and I am so excited and grateful that I get to marry my best friend.
