A Forest of Saguaro Cactus and a Geometric-Inspired Arch Set the Tone for This Sunset Elopement

Michaela and Dylan’s elopement didn’t need all the fuss and frills of a typical wedding-day celebration. Instead, the couple say their vision was “simplicity with a dash of sexy.” The duo exchanged vows in the serene and dusty Saguaro National Park where they were surrounded by cacti and sprawling desert views.

Photographer Ashley Taylor captured the intimate day and notes that each detail from Michaela and Dylan elopement was also thoughtfully planned. The couple pulled inspo from Michaela’s boho-inspired deep-V Rish Bridal gown and incorporated the dress’ unique geometric lace design into their wedding details. A picture frame-inspired arch, crafted by the talented florist Cultivated by Faith, featured a similar v-like pattern, where Dylan’s Terracotta suit was accessorized with a bolo tiemade by the bride herself—to also pair well with Michael’s bridal look.

Along with the picturesque setting and handmade details, what really makes this desert elopement special is the timing. Michaela and Dylan opted to marry as the sun went down, so they could look their best during golden hour. “It was a photographer’s dream!” Ashley says.

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

Our most memorable moment was the morning of our elopement. We were woken by a Great Horned Owl, sitting outside our window hooting. We sat amongst the Saguaros while watching the sunrise. Admiring the painted sky and bright yellow cactus blooms. All while drinking a tasty cup of coffee and enjoying the intimate moment.

The couple stuck to a color palette filled with natural, earthy tones, when choosing their outfits and decor. This allowed for their unique desert setting to really standout in their photos. And wow, Allie Laree Beauty did a knock-out job with the hair + makeup!!

“My dress was seriously destined for me,” says Michaela. Adding, “She fit perfectly and was so flattering. The deep V chest? Oh my…my most loved feature of the dress. She is sexy, sassy, and sweet!”
