This Summer Wedding Boasted An Unexpected Bold Color Design And Major 70’s Vibes!

Unexpected Bold Color Design in St. Louis

Elizabeth & Corey did not shy away from color when designing their big day. Pops of pink, corals, and oranges giving a bit of a 70’s vibe were shown in the florals, centerpieces, place settings, and all the desserts.

Originally the bride really struggled to find inspiration for her summer wedding, but she knew they definitely wanted lots of bright hues with a slightly retro vibe. Loveland Estate’s amazing venue owner, Heather, did the florals, decor and came up with the most dreamy color palette! She took the bride’s vision and turned it into the most fabulous summer wedding the couple could ever dream of. Let’s transport ourselves straight into summertime with these epic shots by Abby Rose Photography, and soak up all the fun in the sun in Illinois!

A First Look + Private Vows

The bride’s dress was one of her absolute favorite details of the day! …And for good reason!

“I didn’t quite know what I wanted going into looking but I knew I wanted there to be a unique element to it and that I didn’t want a veil. I got my dress from Bridal Parlour and the owner Heather helped me piece together the dress of my dreams. When I initially tried on my dress it was missing something. Another dress had detachable sleeves I was interested in and I found beautiful long “wings” instead of a veil. I felt by adding these pieces it really made my dress feel custom to me. I want to rewear my dress over and over again!”

The couple opted for a first look & private vows, which were very emotional and touching.

“We did several things to make the wedding unique to us and more about us as a couple. We decided to forego a bridal party, we did private vows during our first look, involved our dogs, and made sure everything felt true to us as a couple.”

The bride’s gorgeous adjustable wings were perfect as the day progressed! They were cathedral length for portraits & the ceremony, then they were modified to fall at her hips for the reception!

While the couple didn’t have a wedding party, they instead invited their close friends to get ready together and grabbed a couple of photos with them before the ceremony!

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

One of the more memorable moments was during my dad and mine's dance. He surprised me with a custom song written by him and performed by a family friend. The DJ was in on the surprise acting like his music stopped working and invited Hunter up to perform a song instead. We were all surprised when he started singing a song written by my dad. There wasn't a dry eye in the room.

The cake & dessert table by Covered in Chocolate looked like a work of art – it was absolutely stunning. All the sweet treats were in their color scheme, even the fortune cookies were dipped in pink frosting!

Okay YUM! There are so many delicious-looking options we truly don’t even know what we would’ve ever decided on!

How fun are these custom koozies that the bride made herself?! They featured their two dogs on them, and made for such a great takeaway for the guests!

Instead of a traditional guest book, they had a rad audio guestbook for guests to leave them voicemails on.

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

My advice to those planning a wedding is to trust your vendors. They do this for a living and generally know what's best and want your day to go smoothly just as much as you do!

The couple leaves us with one final piece of advice: “Don’t take it so seriously! The marriage- yes. The wedding day-no. Go with the flow, don’t stress about the details, don’t overthink the “vibe” or “aesthetic”. Just be present and enjoy the moment!”

Congratulations Elizabeth and Corey and cheers to your exciting new life as newlyweds!
