When you have the type of friends who are 1) oozing with talent and 2) dying to help you create your dream wedding, you realize you’ve struck gold and make the most of their talents + devotion! (There is no other option than that, friends!) Lucky for these cuties, Bri + Nate, who found themselves in that very situation, their beautiful wedding was a meeting of the (creative) minds + a fun group effort. The calligraphy, flowers, invitations, napkins, and videography for their big day were all done by very close friends. And each of those elements turned out amazingly. Let’s hear more from Bri about her inspiration + how they brought together all the details:
The theme for our wedding was basically ‘adult summer camp’. We wanted a place in the forest where everyone could stay for the whole weekend, not just one day. Once we found Dawn Ranch and walked the property it was a no brainer. We spent countless hours on every little detail of the wedding, and had friends help us achieve almost all of them. We had always planned on having tarot escort cards and finding The Wild Unknown set was really special, because it tied everything we already done together so well.
Pretty sweet, right? Thanks so much to Studio Castillero for sharing this one!
Bridesmaids in black tie dye with bright flower crowns is a look we can definitely get behind!
But the star of the show had to be Bri’s perfect Jenny Packham dress!
For their ceremony, Bri + Nate whipped up a wooden dowel teepee and adorned it with greenery…
Pretty impressive, right?!
To achieve their goal of a camp-inspired affair, dinner alfresco at long, communal tables was a must!
The absolute highlight of the weekend was dancing at the reception. The final song played was Forever Young by Alphaville, and as soon as it started everyone was singing at the tops of their lungs. By the end of the song everyone had closed in on us in a giant hug where we just swayed as one still singing long after the song finished. Then our friend Craig surprised us by grabbing the microphone and having the DJ play Sweet Caroline which he then sang the best rendition of I've ever heard. It was an incredibly moving end to an amazing day.
Our advice would be to make the day as personal and special as you can: figure out what it is you really want, then figure out how to get it. It's your day (or weekend) so do what matters to you. Having a planner will take loads of stress off, and setting a budget will ensure you don't go too crazy in one area and have to skimp in another at the end.

That teepee! Where did you find the wooden rods that size? (18-20’?)
