You might be newly engaged and wondering what in the world a safe wedding in the coming months might look like. We’ve got good news for you: the pressure is off! Because planners and designers like LB Event Planning are doing the work for you. Using their time away from busy seasons, big weddings, and constant to-do lists to instead reimagine the wedding of our time. Today, the dreamiest of micro weddings takes us to Santa Monica for a Proper Hotel wedding inspiration that takes cues from the stunning decor + architecture already in place.
Our vision took shape around the remarkable new hotel, The Proper Santa Monica. We knew the setting would be ideal for a couple who is looking for a stunning venue that is attainable and close-by. Overall, we found inspiration during trying times in re-thinking how the wedding might proceed safely. The elements that are familiar—photography, florals, rentals—will be there, but the human connection became the forefront of this shoot. We look forward to brides and grooms who want to be innovative and care about the details.
An A-team of vendors joined hands (figuratively) to play, create, and make some micro wedding magic. Hannah Costello was tapped to capture all the details, so let’s have a look!
Girl Meets Bongga glammed up the bride with soft beachy waves and a metallic eye pop. She wore two dresses from Billy’s Boutique that hinted at a little modern ’80s edge!
Wedding Ceremony at the Proper Hotel
A micro wedding at a hotel has major potential, but you’re already a step ahead if you choose a venue with stunning decor!
Texture was key to any added design element so LB Event Planning brought dimension to the ceremony backdrop with three yarn-wrapped panels outfitted in floral adornments by Best Day Ever Floral Design.
The newlywed + bridal portraits took full advantage of the hotel’s design!
The perfect lounge already in place.
Meet Me at the Hotel Bar
Even the drinks are stylish!
The reception table was a recipe of dreamy tabletop + linens from Greystone Table, Found Rentals, and La Tavola Fine Linens.
Happy little menus from Copper Willow rounded out the setting!
And the best part about hosting your micro wedding at a hotel? It’s just a quick elevator ride to the wedding night! And the pretty decor, of course.
For a bigger picture at all the little details, here’s a look at the day through the lens of Wes Films!
