Clementine + Alex’s stunning Sydney, Australia wedding really captured the best aspects of the beautiful city + reflected their fun personalities to a T. As soon as they found their modern reception venue, a stylish room at the Museum of Contemporary Art, they knew they’d found just the right location where they could break a few traditions + focus on creating a beautiful, relaxed day for their guests who had traveled in from around Australia and overseas.
To ensure everyone could soak in some stellar Syndey Harbour views, they chose an outdoor ceremony spot, at nearby McKell Park, and shuttled their guests to the reception by boat cruise (so fun)! And when it came to personalizing the modern museum space, C + A knew just what they wanted: A gelato cart from our favourite Gelato store; selfie sticks and an Instagram printer to give our guests an instant printed memory of any photos that they sent to our hashtag (which made for fabulous viewing at the end of the night!); and our cake topper which mirrored our sense of humour – ‘I love you like a fat kid loves cake’!
We love it so, and Lara Hotz’s stunning images from the day really tell the story of the day so perfectly! Clementine + Alex, congrats on a beautiful celebration – we love that you created a wedding that was just right for you!
We kind of have a thing for Clementine’s Peony by Steven Khalil wedding dress!
Processional: Pachabel's Canon
Recessional: Viva la Vida – Coldplay
First Dance: Two Hearts – Phil Collins
Our celebrant Tanya was fabulous and helped us create a very personalised ceremony – we wrote our own vows and chose readings, which got plenty of laughs and were not too mushy.
We were lucky enough to be able to see the Reception venue together before everyone else arrived. We had a 5 minute window before the boat arrived with the guests, so were able to marvel at the setup and take it all in, and we were absolutely blown away by the amazing job that our vendors had done. This was also the moment when we realized that we were about to be surrounded by our friends and family from around the globe, and that they had all made the trip to witness us becoming Mr & Mrs Ball.
Decorative Events + Grandiflora really created a dream space for Clementine + Alex and their guests to enjoy! We’re loving the all-white floral centerpieces (those magnolias!!) and stylish, modern feel to the decor.
See the super cute pup pillow in the lounge photo above? Clementine tells us, We have 2 gorgeous fur-babies (our dogs!) who we couldn’t have at either of the venues, so we found a cute way to incorporate them in the celebrations. We used a local artist to create portraits of the boys and had them printed on the cushions displayed on the lounge area at the MCA!
Choose your vendors well and then trust them! They are the experts in their field and know how to take your idea and make it even more spectacular. We were so thrilled with the end result and couldn’t have done it without their advice and talent.
