Julie + Shane are an adventure-loving couple who never stop exploring together. They got engaged while riding camels in the Sahara Desert in Morocco, so it was only natural to celebrate their anniversary in a pret-ty big way…and they decided on a day-after session in beautiful Iceland.
It was a given that they’d call up Lauren Fair Photography (who photographed their wedding last year) to have her document this incredible experience + occasion. They explored the stunning country over several days + were able to shoot on an abandoned plane crash on black sand beaches, in waterfalls, and ending at the stunning glacier lagoon at sunset…
We also had to share the exciting news that Lauren Fair Photography is currently running a elopement special of $2500 + travel expenses (as opposed to their regular $4200 starting rate) + they would love to connect with any rad couples planning intimate celebrations all around the world! Lauren says, With a focus on stunning scenery, romantic imagery + intimate connections, we would love to document these love stories in 2015 and 2016!
Julie is wearing one of our most fave ensembles – BHLDN’s Elsa Gown paired with the Elsa Tulle Skirt!
Unreal, right?!
And they even had a celeb run in with Gerard Butler! How totally random + fun, right?! :)
Quite possibly the most amazing thing our eyes have seen. If you are tying the knot in this magical place, please be sure to tell us a bit about your plans in the comments below!

Wow!! What a beautiful pictures! I love the surroundings!
Thank you so much for sharing!! This was truly a one of a kind experience + we had the absolute best time in Iceland with these guys!
Hey! Can you (or someone else) tell me the closest landmark/google-able place to find the waterfall and plane? I’m going to Iceland for my honeymoon and my future husband would DIE to see those sites!! Thanks in advance for any help.
The waterfall is about a half mile down the road from the popular Seljandafoss, and if you google “iceland abandoned plane vik directions” some people have written out pretty clear landmarks to find the plane :) You turn in a farmers gate on the side of the road, it’s unmarked, so having those directions helped us! :)
i really love how the “waves” in her dress fit the waterfall :-). And this last location with the ice? Oh my… How beautiful!
Wow! What an incredible shoot! Perfect way to show their relationship together!
I want to go to there. :-)
