Talk about right place right time! After finishing her Ph.D. at Tulane University, bride Jeral moved to D.C. for work but had returned to New Orleans for a Saints football game. While in town, she met Rahim who had recently moved to New Orleans from Houston and was working to start a solo consulting practice. Their first date was at Turkey and the Wolf where Jeral asked if Rahim shared food (because she was going to order what she wanted either way) and Rahim taught Jeral about the R&D behind how mattresses are made – talk about a match. When thinking about a location to elope, while international venues such as Italy and France had appeal, no other location was as meaningful or memorable as New Orleans. The inspiration behind the day and design was a mix of classic and modern… and we cannot wait for you to see!
Jeral & Rahim got married at Hotel Peter and Paul in the Marigny neighborhood in New Orleans. With families from different cultural and religious backgrounds, they chose a venue and ceremony style that allowed them to pay respect to those values of the past while also celebrating their future together and shining a spotlight on them as a couple.
September Company is to thank for the gorgeous photos you’re about to witness. Let’s take a look!
It’s All About Color

Haven Flower Farm started with a grounded arch of flowers consisting of colors reminiscent of the English countryside in Spring. So breathtaking!

This venue couldn’t be more stunning. The perfect place for J + R to seal the deal! Planner Becca Kelly helped execute this couple’s gorgeous, vibrant, vision.
A gorgeous ode to tradition, the bride’s cathedral length veil but a flair thrown in with a mid-length dress! Jeral’s gown is from BHLDN that she paired with adorable blue slingback heels by Manolo Blahnik which you can find here!

Processional: Stand by Me - Florence + The Machine
Recessional: For Once in my Life - Stevie Wonder
First Dance: You are the Sunshine of My Life - Stevie Wonder
Saying ‘I do’

Husband and wife!
Absolutely picture perfect. The groom is wearing a custom suit from Adam Ross Custom.

Cheers to the happy couple!

A New Orleans Celebration
Can someone say outfit change? She is absolutely nailing her second look! Her fabulous bedazzled, fringe gown was just the change of pace she needed for her celebration in the city!
Jeral's favorite part of the day was watching and participating in Rahim's first second line experience. For Rahim, it was staying up late the night before talking and spending time together (counts as the day because it was past midnight).
What a way to celebrate! The smiles on the newlywed’s faces say it all!
1) Lean on each other when planning and find fun ways to involve the other
2) Understand that you may not get your first pick (venue, florist, dress, etc.) but remember why you are getting married in the first place
3) Hire a day-of-coordinator for the event (even though Jeral is very Type A and did most of the planning herself, Rahim persuaded her to hire one and it was the best decision she ever made and strongly recommends it for others)
