Spring is here (YAY!) and I thought this styled shoot was perfect inspiration for the season. The overarching theme for this shoot was Nature as Science. Yelena Johnson of The Stylish Soiree was the designer behind this gorgeous shoot and envisioned the bride as a free-spirited nature lover and intellectual. They styled her with pretty, natural makeup and a headpiece with wired butterflies adorning her tousled tresses – just love this! Gorgeous photos by the lovely Meg Perotti + pretty watercolor letterpress invitations by The Aerialist Press (and yes, they sell that exact lovely invite you can customize for your day!).
For the tablescape + vignettes, Yelena gathered inspiration from botanical and naturalist drawings, as well as watercolor paintings. To bring the Nature as Science theme to life, they used quirky flowers with a lot of natural movement (including poppies, ranunculus and anemones), ferns, mushrooms and moss, vintage furniture that looked as if it might be found in a naturalist’s office, and science related ephemera for styling. I’m totally in love with the pretty poppies and all the florals by Karen of Huckleberry Designs!
