Sonoma Getaway Guide + Win a Trip to Sonoma!

Sonoma Getaway Guide

Last month I had the opportunity to visit Sonoma (you might have seen some peeks on Instagram) with some of my favorite bloggers for a fun getaway hosted by some of my favorite brands – Williams-Sonoma, the Fairmont Sonoma, and Fortessa. We got to experience 2 pretty amazing days in Sonoma and today I’m excited to be sharing a recap of my trip – and the news that you can win this exact same trip! Sonoma is so perfect for a honeymoon, anniversary trip or girls weekend and I’m excited to share some of the fun events we participated in (which the winners from this sweepstakes will experience as well!) and encourage you guys to enter to win this amazing trip as well – or at least keep these tips in mind for future trips to Sonoma. :)

WHERE TO STAY:

Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa

I’ve been to Sonoma quite a few times but only day trips from San Francisco, so this was my first time actually staying in Sonoma. I loved staying right in town and we stayed at the lovely Fairmont Sonoma. The hotel is in a perfect location and with a complimentary bottle of wine on arrival, the Le Labo bath products, their gourmet restaurant + a great spa (more on that later!), it makes for the perfect home base for your stay in Sonoma. I also love that they offer guests bikes to use which would be so fun for a morning bike ride to grab breakfast in town.

WHERE TO EAT:

The Girl & The Fig
The first night, we were treated to a 4-course candlelit dinner at The Girl and the Fig’s Suite D – which would also be a perfect spot for a rehearsal dinner! Dinner was all about locally sourced ingredients – including beef filet, butternut squash gratin + wild mushrooms (my personal fave!), and almond brown butter cake with strawberries – which were all served on Fortessa dinnerware. Such a fun evening with amazing food + conversation.

Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa
Our second night was hosted at the Fairmont Sonoma by Chef David Blum. Dinner was five courses and each course was paired with wine – served in Fortessa‘s gorgeous break-resistant glasses :) Dinner was also all locally sourced and I love that the Chef talked about how they picked their produce that morning from the local farms – oh how I love Sonoma + their food!!

WHAT TO DO:

Cooking Class
The part I was most excited about for this trip was the cooking class at the originalWilliams-Sonoma store. The store is gorgeous and also includes a lovely backyard garden that is perfect for parties + events. After a quick tour of the store (and drooling over all the amazing kitchen items!) we were treated to a cooking class by Chef Thomas McNaughton (restaurant owner to numerous restaurants in San Francisco including Flour + Water and Central Kitchen and author of Flour + Water: Pasta). I loved learning about some tips + tricks for making pasta and then he treated us to a crazy amazing lunch of fresh made pasta, wine (of course!) and chocolate mousse for dessert. Yum!! We also received his cookbook and I’m excited to try to create some of his yummy recipes at home. :)

Winery Tour
Of course a winery tour is a must-do when in Sonoma and we spent a few hours at the lovely Silver Oak Winery. They only make Cabernet Sauvignon here and we sampled quite a few of them in beautiful Fortessa stemware, nibbled at the prettiest cheese board I’ve seen, and explored their herb + vegetable gardens and vineyards.

Spa Day
On our last morning, we were treated to a treatment of our choice at the Fairmont Sonoma spa. I choose a massage and it was such a perfect relaxing end to the trip. I’m always a fan of treating yourself to some spa time if you are taking a special trip and their spa definitely did not disappoint!

All in all, it was a pretty magical trip filled with great food + fun conversations and I’m so excited that one of you guys will have the chance to win this same amazing trip to Sonoma. Thanks again to FortessaWilliams-Sonoma, and the Fairmont Sonoma for a wonderful experience and I can’t wait to go back sometime soon with the hubs!! :)
