Since it’s dress fashion week at GWS, sharing the wedding gown worn by a bride whose trade is fashion design felt like a definite must. The lovely Talia is a LA based designer with an eco-friendly basics collection, TALIA, that has been featured in People Stylewatch and on celebs like Kourtney + Khloe Kardashian and Ali Fedotowsky. We were dying to see what she’d decide to wear for her marriage to professional baseball player, Bryan Peterson (currently signed to the Milwaukee Brewers – go Brewers!!), and her Vesna gown by Sottero Midgley, with a custom made removable tulle skirt by Casa Blanca, couldn’t have been a better choice!
Aside from the obvious gorgeousness of the fashion, we’re loving the rustic + authentic feel of T + B’s celebration, held at The Retro Ranch in Temecula, California. They opted for greenery over florals, handmade reclaimed wood signs from barn siding from their ranch in Tennessee, and served delish eats from their favorite food trucks. The result was a day that was just right for this ultra sweet couple + their guests who traveled from all over the world to be there!
Congrats to the newlyweds and thanks so much to John Robert Woods for sharing these gorgeous snaps with us this morning!
Gray is always a good idea! The bridesmaids each chose their own frock in shades ranging from dove to slate – and just how cute are those flower girls in their gray tutus and denim jackets?!
Talia tells us, The bridesmaids walked in carrying mason jars and bird cages accented with ribbons and flowers and each girl hung their jar or cage from a string hanging from the armor. Thus, the bridesmaids slowly decorated the arbor as they walked down the aisle.
Processional: This I Believe – The Creed (Acoustic Studio Version by Hillsong Worship)
Recessional: Better Together – Jack Johnson (Performed Live by DJ + Artist Kevin Miso)
First Dance: She Is Love – Parachute (Performed Live by One of the Groom's Best Friends + Washington National's Third Baseman, Greg Dobbs)
Bryan: The night! I'll never forget Chuck, our friend and pastor, saying "I now present Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Petersen", taking my wife's hand and walking back down the aisle.
Talia: Seeing how one event brought all of our loved ones together. My friends and family came from Peru, Spain, New York, Texas; high and low just to celebrate us, and that leaves me speechlessly grateful. Telling my vows to Bry was the single most important moment of my life because I have never believed so truly in my own words, and my life's goal is to keep those promises. We allowed ourselves 3 sentences, and Bry's sentences consisted of approximately 150 words each with multiple commas and semicolons, ha!
We love seeing Talia’s dress transformation! After removing the tulle overlay, she was ready to dance the night away!
Guests were seated at long king tables arranged in a starburst pattern around the dance floor. Cafe lights strung from hundred-year-old trees and thousands of candles illuminated the night, and star-shaped lanterns were hung over the dance floor. A variety of antique mason jars, wooden lanterns, bark-filled hurricanes, pewter candelabras, sliced tree trunks and eucalyptus with wild flowers adorned the tables. Each place setting featured mis-matched antique China, a custom menu and was accented with a sprig of eucalyptus.

And there was one last (super cute) wardrobe change before the night was over!
Enjoy the planning. We believe that you only get to plan one wedding in your life, so it's important to enjoy it. The 6 months between our engagement and wedding were some of the most personally and professionally times in our entire lives, and we remember "just wanting it to be over". We regret that sentiment, but what we were living at the time called for survival mode. Talia's family stepped in tremendously during the planning and preparation; her grandmother even shoveled snow the day before the wedding. The planning itself was awesome, and getting to make and choose all of your ideas and see them come to life is magical.
