Marisa + Andy tied the knot in the prettiest of places: a picturesque, sprawling Spanish village by the sea called The Casino in San Clemente, California. Throughout the planning process, this duo made a conscious decision to base all of their choices on what made them happy as a couple; forgoing certain traditions + details that just didn’t speak to them. By keeping 100% true to themselves, in the end, they were able to craft a celebration of their love that represented every aspect of the two of them as a couple. That’s what we like to hear! Let’s let Marisa tell us a little bit about their decor choices:
When it came to the theme of our wedding decor, Andy pretty much gave me full reign of those decisions. We threw ourselves into collecting small knick knacks for months leading up to the wedding- visiting thrift stores, garage sales, and flea markets wherever we went. I quickly became obsessed with the look of dainty milk glass vases, tarnished brass candle holders, old rustic tin cans, and vintage style cake stands. And soon our collection just grew and grew, allowing us to infuse those sentimental touches.
Thanks so much to Joel + Lorely of Studio EMP for the lovely images and big congrats to Marisa + Andy!
Our first look served as one of THE most memorable moments of the day. The anticipation of seeing one another before the ceremony was immediately fulfilled once we saw each other behind an old abandoned building. Andy all dolled up in his suit was such a beautiful sight, it brought tears to my eyes. We also chose to write our own vows and exchange them with one another at the alter. The sentimental words he wrote from the heart, made me cry tears of joy over and over again. Another precious moment, was when my sweet bridesmaid Kara read a poem for all to hear in honor of my father that had passed away the year prior. Andy and I lit a candle in front of my father's picture as Kara recited those special words- a message from a father to his daughter on her wedding day. I love him dearly and I am so glad we were able to incorporate him in this way.
Lots of bouquet prettiness going on here! These beauties were crafted by The Daily Petal.
Such a gorgeous SoCal spot!
The wedding planning process can be so stressful, but I personally think the most crucial part of planning is when you select your vendors. We were so lucky to find people that not only had a genuine passion for their art, but were also able to connect with us (as a couple) on a personal level as well. If you are going to spend an entire day with someone and trust them to carry out your vision, you better make sure you can share a few laughs and giggles along the way.
