Rustic + Modern Wedding Inspiration

Influenced by the history + romance of Virgina’s Shenandoah Valley, the creative folks behind today’s styled shoot at The American Hotel set out to infuse the rustic + storied backdrop with touches of modern elements. Conceptualized and produced by The Lady Jane + Amelia Marie Design, this shoot is sure to inspire some fun ideas for mixing modern + vintage, and incorporating those ideas into your big day!

Blakemore’s Flowers created the lovely arrangements in shades of deep plum, green, champagne, black, + cream and used a variety of unique vessels ranging from vintage pudding tins to old liquor bottles to depression-era glass bowls.

More about the design from The Lady Jane, We wanted the main table to be lit by candlelight, so I collected brass, silver, and glass taper holders in varying heights. Our calligrapher created signs out of reclaimed wood, and several beautiful chalkboards + our graphic designer created the menus + signage.

I’m majorly in love with this antique post office hutch, which the team repurposed as the dessert bar. It’s the perfect platform for the sweet + simple wedding cake and pretty piles of macarons!
