Is it your dream to have a wedding at a vineyard — taking pictures in rows of manicured vines and having guests indulge in delicious reds and whites as you + your love celebrate your marriage? Sounds pretty dreamy, right? Well wait ’til you see how Alexandra and Justin spruced up the place to fit them (and believe you me, the grounds were *already* gorgeous — so these photos from John Robert Woods are ASTOUNDING).
Back in 2011, A+J were taking the coastal route from Laguna Beach up to San Francisco. As they traveled north of Santa Barbara, they knew we were getting close to “wine country,” but since neither of them had been before they did a quick Google search for “wine,” which revealed revealed dozens of wineries, all within walking distance. Here’s Alexandra with the rest: Saarloos + Sons was our first stop and we instantly fell in love with the wine and surrounding area… and each other. Los Olivos became one of our most beloved spots. We wanted our wedding guests to experience what we first experienced during that memorable road trip!
Let’s take a peek at the celebration designed by Beijos Events, shall we?
The Wedding Party
How darling are these getting ready robes from Plum Pretty Sugar?
Alexandra looked like a goddess in her off-the-sholder Sarah Seven gown.
We encouraged taking the coastal route in hopes our guests would get a chance to see the sun glistening through the blue oak trees, the poppies along the Figueroa Mountainside, or cattle grazing in open pastures. The beauty of the Central Coast is endless and was the main inspiration for our wedding weekend.
Doesn’t this wedding party look regal in navy blue?
The Rustic Ceremony
Bring on the florals by Bloom Babes! Gorgeous displays lined the aisle, which led up to the wall of barrels — so cool!
Processional: Groom: Trouble with Boys by David Bazan; Bride: Thirteen by Ben Kweller
Recessional: The Sound by The 1975
First Dance: I Love You, Honeybear by Father John Misty
I’m not crying, you’re crying! Okay, maybe I am… this is just the sweetest!
Can’t get over that EPIC backdrop!
The Newlyweds
Cocktail Hour + Reception
To add to the rustic feeling, Poppy Jack Shop created these calligraphy pieces. The old paned windows are such a fun touch, don’t you think?
Can you hear the wedding bells? Reminiscent of California’s many missions, A Fabulous Fete crafted these darling escort cards.
OH YES! You know we love a good tablescape… especially when you combine rustic wood + pops of color like those blue napkins and golden goblets.

How cute are these “honey bear” favors?
What a sweetheart set-up, right?! Bloom Babes absolutely nailed it with the organic floral design.
Expect the unexpected and embrace it. A few days before our wedding, the forecast changed from sunny skies to thunderstorms! It was a huge last-minute knuckleball that caused a bit of panic. We ended up getting a canopy tent as a back-up plan for the wedding, with the hope that we could still dine and dance under the full moon. On the day of the wedding, there was still a chance of rain, so we decided to split the reception into two locations. Dinner would be held outdoors, under the stars and dancing would take place inside the canopy tent. It ended up being one of the best decisions we made! The confined space brought everyone together and resulted in an amazing dance party!
Congratulations, Alex + Justin!

You can’t get better than that! Where did you get that stunning tree as a background? Love it!
So beautiful! Also love seeing the boxed water in use. Such a great way to incorporate a good cause.
