Rugged, Relaxed, and Urban: An Autumnal Wedding in a Catskills Lodge

There’s something about fall… the way a still crispness sets in the air, the changing of the leaves (though we don’t get much of that in our home office of Southern California!), the overwhelming urge to cozy up to the one you love. Wanting to highlight those feelings, along with a bit of a rugged, relaxed, and urban sort of style, photographer Eileen Meny + planner Lindsey M Events headed out to Scriber’s Catskills in Hunter, New York.

Eileen shares Scribner’s opened last fall in the Catskills, just a couple hours north of NYC. They are starting to host weddings and I jumped at the opportunity to do a shoot at this beautiful lodge. The hotel largely caters to New Yorkers looking for weekend getaways from the city. I loved playing with a tomboy-chic look for the bride and collaborating with so many NYC vendors to bring this look to life.

How darling is that vow book from Shamara’s Pretty Things?

A stately suite, indeed! This simple + cool set is from Bonomo Paper Company + Han Writing lent a hand with her excellent calligraphy throughout the day.

Talk about a stylish couple!! The bride’s dress + (seriously awesome) cape are from Rebecca Schoneveld; the wishlist-worthy floral boots are by Kate Spade.

Eileen spills: The jewelry was also one of my favorite elements of the shoot! Shahla Karimi’s designs are inspired by the architecture of NYC, which was perfect for the urban/rustic feel of the shoot.

When it came to florals, Rosewood Floral Company was all about that texture! Mixing in berries + grasses, with an assortment of creamy flowers, the bouquet had an overall wild, yet refined feeling.

The lodge has so many different textures built into it — so mixing elements of gold, linen, marble, leather, and wood together served as a true complement.
