On the edge of turquoise water, a colossal mountain as the backdrop, surrounded by family and friends, and the deepest emotions coming through… this was what Christina + Mike envisioned for their elopement, and it was a complete + absolute dream! The location? None other than Banff National Park!
Christina shares a little about the inspiration behind the day: We wanted the first day of our marriage to embody how we see the rest of our lives together; full of adventure, love, and beauty. So, traveling somewhere we had never been before surrounded by our closest family and friends where the landscape truly speaks for itself was the perfect beginning.
Just wait until you see all the turquoise hues + all the love With Love & Embers captured!

The Ceremony
Oh my goodness, all the feelings + emotion in this one!!
Like a dream…
The Newlyweds
Cheers to that!

This is so hard, of course we want to say the traditional “seeing each other for the first time” but we don’t think it was as memorable as our violinist bailing due to rain and having our first dance be to the tunes of Your Body is a Wonderland by John Mayer. Ideally, not our first choice but it certainly made us laugh then and I’m sure will keep us laughing for years to come.
Complementing the scenery, Willow Flower Co. crafted a bouquet brimming with greens + pops of white and pink.
The Dress
Isn’t that lace bodice positively divine?! Christina’s gown was actually two pieces, with the bodysuit by Gemy Maalouf + the skirt by Janell Berte from Posh Bridal.
What a location… We can certainly see why these two dreamt of Banff.
It is just as easy to get caught up in trying to plan the perfect elopement as it is a wedding back home, but don’t let it overwhelm you! We genuinely believe that if you stay true to yourselves and who you are as a couple the day will be amazing regardless of what happens. Things may not go according to plan, and that's OK, roll with the punches and something amazing could come of it, or funny (refer back to most memorable moment for an example). Create the day that is perfect for the two of you and the day will be magical.
Christina shares: Our elopement was perfect, and it’s not because everything went according to plan but because we started our marriage off exactly how we wanted, on an incredible adventure!! Jill and Ryan made our day magical, they listened to our needs and exceeded our expectations, and that was before they ever stepped foot behind the camera. Their photos speak for themselves but the people on the other side of the lens touched our hearts and helped transform our day into a fairytale. We will forever be grateful.
An adventure of a lifetime! Congratulations, Christina + Mike!!

What was the most memorable moment? I think the Advice to those planning now accidentally got put in there twice. Would really like to know what else they had to say :)
Thanks for that note and we’ve updated the feature to add their fave memory!!
This is all kinds of awesome! Love the tone and edits for sure. Great location and emotion here :-)
I am wondering what lake you guys chose to have the ceremony at? Did you have a reserve an area? Was it difficult find a place to have the ceremony since it is a public park and often crowded? I dream to have a wedding similar to this one in Banff and was worried about that aspect of it. Thank you for your advice!
Hi!
Was this at Emerald Lake? Did you shoot some of those other wedding portraits at other locations?
Hi! I was wondering what wedding planner was used to set this up? So beautiful, I’m obsessed.
