If you’ve been scrolling through Instagram lately…or any fashion brands on the web, there’s a good chance you already know today’s stunning bride, Rocky Barnes. She and her beau, Matt, got engaged while they were vacationing on the Amalfi Coast in Italy (a personal fave!)—at a gorgeous villa with gardens that overlook the cliffs of Ravello, no less. Needless to stay, it was a stylish affair…as was their wedding!
As R+M split their time between New York and L.A., they wanted to pay homage to both places with a traditional meets bohemian theme. To set the stage, they chose Knickerbocker Country Club in New Jersey; the venue is the groom’s family country club and the place where Matt went every summer. To bring in the bohemian vibes, they brought in event planner BK Events, who made the whole day feel organic and lush.
Curious to see what we mean? Let’s take a look at all the gorgeous details Heather Waraksa captured!
The First Stylish Ensembles
Easily the CHICEST looks we’ve ever seen for a rehearsal dinner! Rocky donned a slip dress by Reformation with a darling bridal hat. Matt rocked a green suit by Franc Milton…and it was his last night with the ponytail (just wait—he surprised Rocky with a sharp haircut for the big day).
The hat, the slip, the bag!!
Blown away by this invitation? So were we!
Here’s the backstory on that: The still life floral photography was done by Mary Jo Hoffman, and the moment Ashley of BK Events found the photo—she knew they had to license it! Rocky had requested something floral with a black background, this this was absolutely perfect. The wedding stationery was then crafted by Sloane Harmony Design, Los Angeles.
The bridesmaids were all friends of Rocky’s since her high school + college days. When it came to getting ready, Rocky was all about keeping her look natural and hair in loose beach waves.
The Gown + The Wedding Party
Rocky wanted a classic shape for her gown and went with this custom Pronovias piece. She tells us: I loved the intricacy of the beading! I wasn’t sure I wanted a veil until I tried it on, and then I couldn’t imagine my dress without one! Because of the beading of the dress I wanted to keep accessories to a minimum.
Aren’t those dresses incredible?! They were custom pieces from LoveShack Fancy…as were the dresses for the flower girls!

Those blooms!
The Ceremony Space Brimming with Pampas Grass + Textured Florals
To keep things from being too traditional, tons of pampas grass was brought in, over 2,000 flower stems and a myriad of plants. How gorgeous is that textured aisle Of the Flowers crafted with all the foliage?
Too cute!!
Matt surprised Rocky with a gospel choir for the ceremony. Isn’t that sweet?
By Chari, who knows the couple personally, custom made their wedding bands. Matt’s band has the longitude and latitude of where they got engaged and her ring has the coordinates of where they got married.
That feeling!!
Processional: Crazy Love by Van Morrison
Recessional: This Years Love by David Grey
First Dance: Signed, Sealed, Delivered by Stevie Wonder
The Newlyweds
How sharp do these two look? And Matt’s hair is all cleaned up, too! ;)
Hello, bohemian dream.
The Moody Reception
Tying all the burgundy hues in and the black and gold accents, Katrina Pasadena hand-lettered the escort cards, which were displayed on a gorgeous velvet linen from La Tavola. And of course, more florals lined the staircase!
Now that’s a party! From the team at GWS, congratulations to the two of you!!
