The New York based creatives behind today’s super pretty styled session wanted to challenge the idea that something staged in an urban + industrial setting couldn’t also have a fresh, tropical vibe. So they started their brainstorming process, like so many of us do, by putting together a Pinterest board of their ideas. They quickly realized that their vision included hints of retro, some fun, modern elements, and lots of color! So from there, photographer Amber Gress, Jove from Jove Meyer Events and Anne from Blade Florals worked on bringing their concept to life – and we’re definitely in love with the end result!
We’re sure you’ve already noticed that stunner of a dress, hand dip-dyed in a vibrant orange hue by Synderela Story. The shoes + accessories by Hushed Commotion turned out to be the perfect way to add a clean-lined, modern touch + the rose gold and black diamond jewels by Anna Sheffield couldn’t have been prettier either! We love that this shoot shares lots of pretty inspiration for not only your wedding day design, but gives you lots of fun wardrobe styling ideas, too!
Are any of you lovely brides-to-be thinking of dip-dying a dress for the big day? Do tell!
So many fun, little details, right?!
To bring a little tropical touch to your day, we’re loving this easy DIY idea of hand-lettered escort cards fashioned from big, bold leaves.
The tablescape was filled with retro patterns, amazing foliage, and just the right amount of luxe, gold touches. Such a fun table design to steal some ideas from for your wedding or, really, any summer soirée!
From Amber Gress, Of course no shoot is complete without a special treat from Lael Cakes, who incorporated the theme by making the super duper marbleized cake with a custom gold pineapple stamped, and perfectly delicate Hibiscus flower to top it off. The little cupcakes with pineapple toppers really just took it to the next level!Â
And be sure to check out the super fun video, shot + edited by Valerie Barnes, using both digital and film to capture the retro vibe of the shoot!

What an amazing ring set! I wish I would have seen her line before picking out my own engagement ring :P
Now that’s how you style a shoot! So unlike anything I’ve seen before and so gorgeous! That bouquet is something special!

This set is so fresh and modern! I LOVE the dip-dyed dress (something I thought I would never say!) it works so well with the tropical inspired look. I also love the grooms “Just Married” collar.

Anyone know where the pocket square was purchased?
I’m in love with this wedding dress.. where is it from?
I was a little unsure when I saw the orange at the bottom of the dress, but then seeing everything together, I REALLY enjoyed the entire look of this wedding! I found some more inspirational ideas at http://www.theweddingexpert.com also
Great venue.
Love the style of the couple and of the wedding. It is really amazing!
Now that is a unique wedding theme! What a fun way to celebrate their big day! I’ve been trying to think of the perfect theme, and I might go tropical. Although, I’m not sure if I would dip dye my dress. I love how she pulls it off, but I’ve always loved that pure white dress. Thanks for all the great inspiration!
