This elopement featured two beautiful souls, Laura and Joaquin who are also two talented influencers and artists. Their inspiration for their elopement was to have a very private event to celebrate their love and commitment to each other on an early winter day. The styling was inspired by old Italian movies, her gown was a vintage YVL champagne silk dress while Joquin went for an Armani suit.
They started the day with a slow morning at Giardini di Villa Melzi in Bellagio and then a quiet walk in the garden. J+L enjoyed then a fun yet romantic ride on a private boat to end the afternoon with an unexpectedly very intense and teary vow exchange! The Ferros did a gorgeous job capturing this day that you all are going to fall in love with…
An Italian Daydream
The Wedding Boutique created a lovely invitation suite for this couple’s elopement!
The bride loves the colors red and blue so the entire palette of the event was based on these two colors – from their makeup to the stationary to an unexpected, emotional detail – more to come on that later!
“We envisioned our day as a relaxing one with no restricted timeline to follow. We’re both very busy people, and often away for work. So our main idea was based on having a quiet and private kind of elopement. It was a lovely day where we had our getting ready together at the Grand Hotel De Milan. Joaquin even sketched a portrait of me during that morning, which I wasn’t expecting at all and now it’s framed in our home!”
Joaquin and Laura are in the fashion industry and love vintage. Laura is a YSL addict, particularly for vintage.
“We opted to look for my dress at Vestiaire Collective, where I found this gorgeous dress in silk. I loved the simplicity of its lines and the particular sleeves. I thought it would have perfectly matched the architecture of the Como Lake villas, and its floaty-ness reminded me of the waves of the lake!“
An Emotional First Look
When Joaquin sketched the portrait of Laura while they were getting ready, he drew a red scarf around her neck. Laura was profoundly attached to that vintage red scarf that once belonged to her grandmother, but she thought she lost it. But. Joaquin found it and wanted to surprise her on their special day! Such a romantic idea that we fell in love with!
“We’re both into art and travel, and we’re surely in love with our beautiful home country, Italy. So even though we thought of having a small escape for our love celebration, we decided to opt for the enchantment surrounding the Como Lake area.”
The bride shares that she loved Joaquin’s Armani tuxedo, “It made him look so handsome and classy. He’s been my James Bond from day one!”
A Stroll into Forever
These two are absolutely stunning!
“We went for a peaceful yet inspiring walk at Giardini di Villa Melzi, where The Ferros, our photographers took us. We obviously loved the stunning views, the winter colors were just incredible… and then we enjoyed a wonderful ride on a boat. We loved the atmosphere, and filled both our eyes and hearts with so much beauty!”
From the autumn colors to these two love birds, these photos are truly art!
The Exchange of Vows
The most intense moment of the day was certainly the exchange of our vows. Again, our photographers took us to a hidden place nearby, a truly breathtaking one! The sun was slowly going behind the mountains and the city lights were starting to turn on, it was so dreamy! We had a very special moment all for us, (and couldn't help to cry a bit too!) We will never forget that moment, really.
We can barely tell if this is real life or a scene from a movie!
A huge congrats are in order for Laura and Joaquin on their magical day! We’re totally smitten with this dreamy elopement—many congrats to the happy couple!
