Relaxed Outdoor Wedding Vibes With 1970’s Inspiration + Dried Florals

1970s Inspired Outdoor Wedding

Heads up! Incredible wedding inspiration ahead!! Not a single detail was missed in Amanda + Jacob’s gorgeous outdoor wedding. Amanda, who is the founder of the modern advice column, Advice From a 20 Something as well as its sister site, Advice from a 30 Something, has rad style and together with superstar event planners, Bash Please, she and Jacob created a cool, relaxed wedding where their guests could sit back, relax and enjoy the festivities. We’re talking multiple comfy lounge spaces, dried flowers everywhere, a fringe gown, crystals, boho rugs, smudge sticks, made-to-order pizza and burgers and the cutest venue that literally inspired peace and love all day!

Amanda shared with us about their search for the perfect venue space for their dream outdoor wedding:

It was really important to Jacob and I that our wedding felt like us and that our guests felt comfortable and relaxed. I always wanted an outdoor wedding, and when we came across the Peace Barn property, we immediately knew it was the one. The Peace Barn is an old barn with a huge peace sign on it, nestled into the hills of Bolinas, a small beach town just north of Stinson Beach. The property is rustic, really just an open piece of land on a lagoon. So we really got to do what we wanted with it!

Andrea Posadas Creative captured the day beautifully. Let’s take a peek at all of the stunning details!

Loving these super modern and neutral-toned invitations by Lotus and Ash. With nature graphics and images of the area, they really show-off the outdoor wedding theme for guests from the very first moment!

Boho Bridal Fashion

Rue de Seine "Adelia Lune" Gown

Boho dreams! A’s Rue de Seine “Adelia Lune” Gown is from Lovely Bride and her shoes are by Matisse Bello. A mix of bohemian and 70’s vibes create the perfect gown for the relaxed wedding she dreamed up!

I knew for years I wanted to get a dress from Rue de Seine, and when I went searching, I fell in love with two. I ended up turning one into a midi dress, which was perfect for the rehearsal dinner. Look at that fringe!!

Dried flowers boho hairstyle

One of the most beautiful boho bridal hairstyles that we’ve ever seen! A’s dried hairpiece is by Papaver Flower Co. (you can find a similar hairpiece here) and pairs perfectly with her flowing waves by Barb of The Pine Petaluma. A neutral and natural makeup look by McKenzie Hunt completed her bridal look! Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

- Walking down the aisle to my favorite Fleetwood Mac song and seeing Jacob crying
- My brother's speech at the ceremony: he read old emails Jacob and I wrote to each other the first month we were dating
- Reading our vows, which ended up having a lot of similarities
- The 15 minutes Jacob and I had to ourselves right after the ceremony at the picnic table
- Singing Backstreet Boys with my sister at the top of our lungs
- Ring pops and 90s music

Marigold created a floral Heaven-on-Earth for the ceremony backdrop! Look at all of these lush flowers! A mix of both fresh and dried flowers came together to create a wild, and untamed design that went perfectly with the retro, relaxed feel!

It was very important to A + J that their guests felt comfortable in the outdoor setting. They created multiple cozy lounge spaces with furniture from Found Rentals. If this spot doesn’t make you want to grab a drink and lay back and enjoy the night, we don’t know what will!!

We love the simplicity of the tablescapes. Leather table numbers on pre-set water bottles, fresh pears, muted gold candles, bowls of dried flowers and crystals, fringed linen napkins and untamed floral centerpieces. Gorgeous!

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

My advice would be to throw away any "rules" and just do what you want! Think about how you want to feel that day and how you want your guests to feel and work backwards from there. Question every tradition and ask yourself if you really want it. Just be you
