Do you and your love adore the idea of getting married in the forest… but are looking at more accessible city venues? If so, today’s refined + industrial wedding is just for you! When photographer Kay + Bee and Bel Amour Events began brainstorming, their main goal was to inspire brides to bring their love of the outdoors into the wedding space they’ve chosen… And my goodness, did they do it beautifully at the Distillery 244 in Kansas.
If you don’t have the ability to get married in the forests of Oregon, bring the forest vibes to you! The idea of focusing on wood and water came from just that, and the gorgeous contrast between the two. The team shares: the fluidity of water and the sturdiness of wood reminded us a lot of marriages staying sturdy and strong in the sea of unpredictability that life is.
Ready to see how to bring the essence of the woods into a wedding venue? Let’s look!
Kicking it off with a gorgeous invitation suite — August & Ember’s work captures the water theme in such an elegant manner!
Holy SMOKES! Those strappy heels + that glittering bauble… wow, wow, WOW!!
And, of course, there’s nothing sweeter than bringing in a beloved pet into the big day!
We HAVE to talk about these outfits! Elegant, unexpected, and totally cool, right?! For the bride’s outfit, the team paired pieces from Missguided, ASOS + Buckle. The groom’s cool gray jacket is from Express.
Opting for billowing branches of eucalyptus, Moore Flowers kept the florals simple + sweet, while emulating the lush nature of greenery in the forest.
Pause right there!! Libby Rivera with Sugar Salon crafted the most swoon-worthy hairstyle… Um, who else wants to recreate this look?!
We drew inspiration from nature and incorporated industrial-edge with wooden hexagons, metal details, and exposed brick alongside serenity blues and a variety of different wood textures.
Only the coolest backdrop, ever!! We adore the wooden hexagons by Kay + Bee, paired with the hanging greenery + the industrial lights at different levels.

And then there was the cake… Bringing in the water elements full circle, Buckingham Cakes created this sweet watercolor masterpiece.
A huge thank you to Leila Lewis of Be Inspired PR for sharing this with us! We’d love to hear how you’re bringing the elements of nature into your big day!
